Re: Macbook recommendations for Scrivener 3

I run Scrivener on a MBP 13” retina first gen (circa late 2012), a MB 12” first gen, and an iPad Pro 9.7”
I like small :D
But, as Keith said, Scrivener will work well on all these machines
If you use the machine also for something more computing intensive, the MBP is hands down more powerful

Re: Adding TinderBox for Keeping Track of Things? Not really! Something else?

No, it isn’t. Agenda uses the same drag-n-drop for emails into Agenda notes and it creates a link back to the email, for both the direct download and App store versions. there is the tenuous possibility that sandboxing was implemented in Scrivener and Agenda in slightly different ways, hence differ...

Re: Adding TinderBox for Keeping Track of Things? Not really! Something else?

Could it be the difference between the direct download version of Scrivener and the App Store version? Maybe sandboxing prevents the link from being created from a drag operation. If that's the case, the solution is to download directly from the website here and use that version instead. I believe ...

Re: Adding TinderBox for Keeping Track of Things? Not really! Something else?

Yes, I meant along the lines of the latter: to be able to be link to emails that open in the mail program when you click on them. You can drag the email from Mail app into a Scrivener document and you have a link that, when clicked, will open up that email. Am I missing something here? Sounds good,...

Re: iPad mini advice needed

My oldest Apple device is an iPad Mini 2 and it works fine with Scrivener. It''s a surprisingly good device for typing, reading, and all kinds of productivity. I have also an iPad Pro (smaller size) and yet find myself using the Mini more, It's slower than the Pro, but its size suits me well. Can't ...

Re: bewildered with choices

Hello, I just got Scrivener - I've been wanting it for a long time, but didn't have a Mac. (Now I've got a Mac, so a PC version is being released, doesn't that figure?) I am not sure where this post should go, but I am definitely needing some tips and tricks! Now that I have the software installed,...

Re: Papers 3 citations working in Scrivener 3?

To update this thread - I abandoned Papers because 1. subscription model 2. the price of the subscription is far too high 3. I couldn’t get it work 4. their tech support treated me like an idiot. I do not recommend having anything to do with the new owner of Papers. In fact, I highly recommend gett...

Re: New iPad Pro; Resolution, Choose 9.7” or 10.5”?

yup, I am using an iMac at the office, two laptops (one at home and one traveling), an iPad Pro, an iPad Mini, and an iPhone and everything syncs fine as long as you are mindful about the syncing process

Re: Taskpaper 3

Have hou looked at the new Agenda app? It’s basically just a note taking app but the notes can be connected to dates and you can phrase them like to-do:s and tick them off. One of the guys behind it was the one who originally developed the Papers reference manager (Griekspoor, alias ’mekentosj’) Lo...

Re: Taskpaper 3

marcoiac, it sounds as if you're suffering from CRIMP, as defined here: http://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/17/0/crimp-defined :) haha, not the full syndrome, not anymore at least, although I think not too long ago I definitely had the bug! now I just surrendered to chaos :D

Re: Taskpaper 3

I started with Taskpaper 3, but after I discovered NotePlan in the AppStore (macOS and iOS, synching via iCloud of course), I never went back. The formatting possibilities are similar or better, basically Markdown is supported. Which is great. Also great is the fact that you can have tasks in notes...

Re: Papers 3 citations working in Scrivener 3?

I am also running the beta of Papers 3 and it runs smoothly (so far). There were plenty of annotations bugs that this version has definitely ironed out. I highly recommend running the beta. The warning words are just standard warnings for beta.
