Re: Sync Reminder on iOS

Let's face it, there is no ideal solution. I also am pretty careful and sync often and used to have automatic quit on MacOS set to ten minutes (reverted it back to default 30 minutes because it was annoying), but eventually it'll happen that you leave something open on one machine and you open the p...

Re: Scratch Pad on iOS or alternative workaround?

Doesn't look like Scratch Pad is available on Scrivener iOS even though I am syncing the notes through Dropbox. What's an alternative method or I am just not seeing the functionality on Scrivener iOS? I don't think you can have a scratch pad in iScriv the way you have it on Scriv for MacOS. What yo...

Re: Is Switching From Windows To The Mac Easy To Do

To paraphrase David Foster Wallace famous quote on tennis on TV vs live tennis (Tennis on TV is to live tennis like porn is to the felt reality of human love), replace 'Tennis on TV' with Win and 'live tennis' with MacOS in that quote :D

Re: Scivener 3.1 Beta

Glad to hear the update went smoothly in your case, marcoiac. I’m liking the dark look a lot as well, it’s a preference I have in general, always choosing dark themes in programs that have offered it. Nice to have the whole system like a lump of charcoal instead of a flashlight. :) Yeah, so easy on...

Buuuut.... Everything is so.... Light.. ;) -I quite dig dark mode. I think it will be my main GUI for a while.

Me too. I thought I'd run Noir only at night. I am always in dark mode now, night and day. That's why we need Scriv Noir asap :)

Re: Safe to update to Mojave on September 24th?

I have also used Mojave and Scriv since June and found no issues. Of course I am wrong, because Keith reminds us that there are indeed minor bugs here and there. Why didn't I even notice? Maybe I am distracted, maybe the way I use Scriv didn't make me run into those bugs. I think this is the crux of...

Re: MAS vs Direct Sale version

You are not missing anything, but you are helping L&L because direct sale means no portion of your sale that goes to Apple

Also, updates are faster with the direct sale version, because MAS needs to approve them, I think

Eventually 32-bit apps won't run anymore on MacOS (although no one knows when that is going to happen, and most likely Apple will alert with plenty of time). But my point is, since at some point one has to move to a 64-bit version, doing it sooner rather than later is probably best

ah yes, no wonder dark mode isn't working in scrivener yet. fair enough. i should say haven't had any problem with mojave and scrivener so far, BUT, if you do decide to run mojave don't bug keith, he's been very clear you do at your own risk!

Re: iCloud desktop question

As far as having several backups, when i hit "save as" and put it on external drive (which I do have specifically because I don't want to lose several years worth of dissertation work), when scrivener "saves" automatically on close, will it will save to where I have the live pro...

Re: Macbook recommendations for Scrivener 3

I run Scrivener on a MBP 13” retina first gen (circa late 2012), a MB 12” first gen, and an iPad Pro 9.7”
I like small :D
But, as Keith said, Scrivener will work well on all these machines
If you use the machine also for something more computing intensive, the MBP is hands down more powerful
