Hi all, I have set automatic quit to 20 minutes and generally this is fine. It works really well. However, sometimes I notice it doesn't quit at all. A few times I have returned to my computer (2015 MBP) to find it still open after I wake the laptop up. Could this be a result of the MBP going into s...
AFAIK it is only Magic Citations that is broken. You can still go into the open Papers app, copy the citation in Papers format and paste it into Scrivener. Once you export into Word, you can still format your citations using Papers. I suspect that this is as good as you are going to get out of Paper...
The linguistic focus is great, but here is an idea for later improvements. Those of us who practice expository writing often make sure we have good topic sentences (usually the first sentence in the paragraph). The idea is that if you just read the first sentences of each paragraph in a section, you...
The problem is likely with Papers. I had the same problem with Ulysses when they went through their last upgrade. It seems Magic Citations is so complex, it needs specific information from every app it works with. Upgrades break this connection. In the past the makers of Papers would issue updates s...
Hi, I am really enjoying working with the new style engine in Scriv3. As I am working through my legacy projects, these all have (of course) "no style" as default. I am going through and assigning styles. That is fine, I have no problem with having to do that. However, it seems to me that ...
I am starting to find all the nooks and crannies with formatting and style definitions, and I can output my newly designed paragraph style to Word, but it doesn't display in Word as "Paragraph" style. It has the style characteristics, but has no style name assigned. Same with headings. Thi...
I was hoping that Scrivener 3, with its nice new style system, would finally be able to send style names to MS Word. This does not seem to be the case. Am I right, or have I missed something in the compile settings?
I adored my Palm Vx. Wonderful machine, so light and small. Once I troubleshot and diagnosed a critical server error remotely using my Palm Vx and Nokia 8210 connected via infrared and sending emails to the tech guy on site. I have to tell you that, regrettably, the sun has set on those wonderful ma...
I've been beta testing the iPad version. Folks, its the real deal. It mirrors what you do on the Mac, right down to styles and export templates. The boys have done a terrific job.
I think that it would be fruitless trying to cram everything into the IOS version. IMHO the iPad app would be good for editing and writing on-th-go. Alas after several years of trying, I have realised that the iPad is just not good enough for a primary writing platform. However, it is excellent for ...
Hi guys. Not trying to be rude and push you to another package, but Keith mentioned exporting to MMD. One package that offers a lot for Fountain is FoldingText. You can collapse and expand sections of your script quite easily. However, it has no IOS app yet.
I think I understand what you want…I would love Scriv to do this too. What you want is for Scriv to parse the MMD code and convert it into formatted text (header 1 format, etc). Well no, AFAIK it won't do this because Scrivener is a rich text environment and there is nowhere for you to map MMD code ...
