Project file name

Is there a way to get the project file name to reflect the name of the project? :) Current, all the project files are "project.scrivx". It would be helpful from a file/project management perspective to have that file use the name of the project, or be able to set that value when creating a...

Re: Ruler weirdness and confusion

All that you wrote is very helpful. I didn't know there was a "Compile for Print", I'll have to give that a try when it seem appropriate.

Thanks again.

Re: Ruler weirdness and confusion

One other question. Is there a way to remove or expand the right indent marker so that the text in the editor goes to the right edge of the editor window and have that setting the same for all the text in my project? I can't find it in the Tools/Options/Editor setting dialog and I'd like to reset it...

Re: Ruler weirdness and confusion

Wow, thanks for all that detail. It made a lot more sense after the first line. :) I was thinking of them are margin markers. I'm not quite sure how my brain make that mistake, I guess because it was late. I does help to think of the editor formatting as separate from the output. I didn't realize th...

Ruler weirdness and confusion

I'm having trouble setting the ruler/margins. 1) In the tools/options dailog the right "pointer" is missing. (see image) 2) In the editor, the margin is set to 6.1xx (or thereabouts) 3) When i compile the project, the margin is 6.5. What I want is simple. 1) In the editor, for all text doc...

Undo menu disabled when undo is available.

I have two documents. D1,D2.

Make a change in D1,
Switch to D2
Make a change in D2
Switch back to D1
The Edit\Undo menu is disabled but Ctrl-Z will still undo the change in D1.

Re: Toolbar/Inteface colors

Office 2003 is more blue, but I can see what you mean. When I see a non-standard Windows tool bar I immediately think Mac. As a developer, I know this is purely cosmetic and add zero to the function of the app, but I do like to change it when I can. I did change the binder back color, which helps. B...

Re: Binder fonts..(not so neat)

I think the issue I'm seeing is this same one posted here. When renaming a node in the binder, the area to type in is smaller then the actual text so the bottom pixel or two is cut off.

Toolbar/Inteface colors

I know I can change the background of the main windows in Scrivener, but can I change the tool bar colors? I know it's a small thing, but the app looks so Mac-ish and the lack of contrast bothers my eyes.

Re: Odd Undo behavior?

I find the undo to be inadequate. Windows apps usually have undo that goes at least 20 deep. Scrivener barely goes 1 deep. In Visual Studio tools, there is an undo queue for each document. I expected that here. It would be a great, and I feel necessary, feature.

Data loss in table with merged cell

I saw this in a table that I imported from Word, but I've been able to recreate it many time with just inserting a table in a text page. Create a new project On a text page, add a table with 8 rows and 2 columns In the right column, add the letters A-H, one in each cell In the left column, select th...

Import Screenplay with formatting elements

I've been importing a screenplay using different source formats. (doc, pdf, rft, avid-txt, fdx) and while the format of the document is retained, the text is all tagged as "General Text." Is there any way to import the document and retain the scene heading, action, dialog, etc element tags?

Re: Import of Word doc with custom heading

One other bug I forgot to mention related to importing. The Word doc had a footer. After importing the footer appears at the top of the Scrivener document.

Import of Word doc with custom heading

I'm not sure this should be high on the priority list, but I'll mention it anyway. I have a Word doc that uses a customized Heading 2 style. (there is no Heading 1 in the document) Impot of most of the document was correct: Font types and styles, general formatting and paragraph spacing. Outlining, ...

Deleted page is still displayed and editable

Select a "page" node in the binder.
Select "move to trash".
The node disappears from the binder but the page is still displayed in the edit window and can still be edited.
