Re: Fonts 1/3 too big on pdf compile

Compiling for RTF corrects this issue of the fonts being too large. This is the only compile solution which solved the problem on my setup (Linux Mint 18/Ubuntu 16.04). The size issue was happening for compile for print, preview and PDF. It works while using one of the "canned formats" (e....

Re: Sharing my Name Generator files

These links seem to be working: I've pulled together lists from various public domain sources online, credited on the download page. I've got files for both Windows and Mac name generator. I have been compiling name lists from various sources on the web. Here is my page where you can download my Nam...

Re: Spellchecker - making it work

Thank you Zelator. Most appreciated!

This worked on Linux Mint:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install libaspell-dev

then

Code: Select all

sudo cp /var/lib/aspell/en-*.rws /usr/share/scrivener/bin/Aspell/dict/

Re: Who want a Linux release version?

Yes agree completely with the last post.

Would happily pay for a Linux release version. Scrivener on Linux is my most important piece of computer software next to the browser.

Re: Linux virgin - Setting up laptop for Scrivener/Writing only

You have some really good advice in this thread. Congratulations on getting off the Windows drug. I've been running a similar set up to what you're thinking of doing and have found it perfect for portable, dedicated and distraction-free writing. I'm using an 11.6" Thinkpad which has an excellen...

Project Keywords Window

Using Linux Beta: Version: 1.7.2.3 beta (64 bit) - 21 Jul 2014 Dear L&L, Yet another thank you for all the thought and effort which goes into developing Scrivener. As a daily user, I value being able to use it as a native application in Linux. I cannot imagine doing my writing and research colle...

Re: Suggestions - how do you organize random quotes, etc

Hi Richard, Thanks for taking the time to describe your system. I spent part of last night pulling in text documents and consolidating items and keywords into Scrivener. Keywords - how brilliant. For some reason I've never used them - CTRL-SHIFT-O makes them simpler. And now Collections make a lot m...

Re: Suggestions - how do you organize random quotes, etc

Hi Richard, you've just about convinced me to try again with Scrivener. I do sync my Scrivener files - so a note system which didn't require any additional fiddling to backup and use is a big advantage. Some details on how you manage everything in Scrivener would be most appreciated. Zettelkasten lo...

Suggestions - how do you organize random quotes, etc

Hi, In the old days some of us had piles of index cards with quotes and random notes scribbled, organized and filed away. Things should be *cleaner* with the computer. Yet, no matter how many schemes I try, I can't seem to get to the quote or reference I'm looking for quickly. Right now I use Scrive...

Re: Copy and paste issue

So appreciate Scrivener, and especially the Linux version. I've paid for the Windows version, but instead use the 1.7.2.3 beta (64 bit) - 21 Jul 2014 version under Linux Mint 17.1 (Cinnamon). I can't imagine having to write without Scrivener and Linux (and Neo, but that's another story). This copy/p...

Re: Editor font changed unexpectedly

Have noticed the same behavior with this latest beta version, 025. It's odd!

Alec

P.S. Am loving Scrivener for Windows. Nothing remotely like it anywhere. Can't wait to pay for it - it's that good.
