Re: Scrivener not working on Ubuntu 13.10

On Ubuntu 13.10, ia32-libs is gone, and you'll have to either use a workaround, or install the <libpackage>:i386 files. For 13.10, I had to run : sudo apt-get install libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0:i386 See this askubuntu post, which covers the method I used : http://askubuntu.com/a/107249/8844 So,...

Re: 1.5.0.6 LINUX Beta Released

Generally, you can ignore this warning if you trust the person/group that created the package you're installing. For Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit, I was able to install this way (via software center), and then get things running with sudo apt-get install ia32-libs-multiarch Just using "ia32-libs" s...

Re: Beta that lasts through November?

To everyone involved (Lee++), thanks for all of the work on this. Even with the bumps in the road, Scrivener is increasing my productivity. (I write very part-time, so the workflow and organization features help keep projects on track after periods of inactivity.) For those possibly freaking out wit...

For future reference, if you're in fullscreen mode, try going back to a non-maximized window state first.

Re: Help uninstalling

Right, you'll need the package name as opposed to file name.
Try:

Code: Select all

dpkg -l | grep -i scriv

Then

Code: Select all

dpkg -r Scrivener
or whatever you find.

You might also check /usr/local/Literature* for related files.

Re: Beta that lasts through November?

You still running Ubuntu 10.04? I'm guessing we could get a .deb file set up pretty quickly, if nothing else. The workaround is to directly access the rtf files, which I've done before without the system barfing (despite some, if I remember, sha1sum checksums for the files -- which could be regenera...

Will try this later today. Are you on 64 or 32-bit?

Re: Ubuntu Kernel Upgrade Caused Grey Screen

Did you go to Tools -> Options and either set to defaults, or go to Manage and load a preference file that you've previously saved? That's worked in the cases I've seen so far, but I'm not running a 3.1 kernel.

I'd be interested in trying to make this more smooth. Is the launcher problem you had specific to Gnome-Shell?

Re: libgthread

@weedfreak For Debian-based distros, use dpkg -S to find the source package. On my system this gives $ dpkg -S libgthread-2.0.so.0 libglib2.0-0: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgthread-2.0.so.0.3000.0 libglib2.0-0: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgthread-2.0.so.0 This may not solve your problem, but it's wort...

Re: Regretting installing Ubuntu 11.10

This sounds like an older issue that I used to see. I'm not seeing this currently. The workaround -- if it is the same problem -- is to go to Tools -> Options and either set to defaults, or go to Manage and load a preference file that you've previously saved. Thanks very much, I tried your first su...

Re: Regretting installing Ubuntu 11.10

I've noticed that this behavior has re-appeared under 11.10 -- however, the workaround for me is simply not to run Scrivener maximized. A completely different work-around is to not run Ubuntu with Unity/Compiz -- I know that under fluxbox, this issue doesn't appear in Scrivener (11.04 or 11.10). Th...

I've noticed that this behavior has re-appeared under 11.10 -- however, the workaround for me is simply not to run Scrivener maximized. I was prepared not to like Unity when I installed it with 11.04, but I've gotten to like it. Some nice shortcut features, and with my widescreen (16:9) display, the...
