Re: Bug Report: "Search" function doesn't search footnotes

But in your case, for the moment, I would convert the inspector footnotes into inline footnotes temporarily, as I would think search would then find your text. You can convert them back again to inspector footnotes when you've found what you want. On the Mac the relevant commands are under Format >...

Bug Report: "Search" function doesn't search footnotes

There seems to be a bug in the "Search" function inasmuch as it doesn't search Comments and Footnotes. I spent a while trying to find something I was pretty sure was in a footnote, but the search function wouldn't bring back any of the single word variations I tried. Frustrated (and distra...

Re: REQ: Footnotes in Full Screen mode

I haven't found a setting that lets me have both the main Scrivener window *and* a full-screen mode window open at the same time, but your post prompted me to look and, in so doing, I noticed the auto-hide settings inspector that appears at the foot of the screen in full-screen mode has an "ins...

Re: Missing default templates?

The Windows version (1.9.7.0) comes with 15 templates. The 'New Project' menu offers a blank template; two novel templates and a short story template (under fiction); non-fiction, research proposal and essay (under non-fiction); two stage play templates (UK & US); radio, 'taped drama' [whatever ...

Re: How to get Word Count to ignore Annotations?

I know a bit of drama can enliven an otherwise moribund forum, but I'm not sure it's fair to accuse tophee of "screaming something is a bug" when he qualified his question by asking:
if it's not a bug, what are we doing wrong?

Does Scrivener Search Footnotes?

Does the search function search Comments and Footnotes? I spent a while trying to find something I was pretty sure was in a footnote, but the search function wouldn't bring back any of the single word variations I tried. Frustrated (and distracted, as I had now lost focus) I tried searching for a sp...

REQ: Footnotes in Full Screen mode

It would be nice to be able to open the Inspector to insert a footnote while in Full Screen mode. Currently, I have to hit "Esc" to leave full screen, position the cursor and then click "insert footnote", which tends to take me out of "the zone" and is a bit of a bubble...

Re: Ghost Footnote

If you select the footnote in the Inspector (the right-hand panel) the corresponding insertion point in the document (the main panel) will be highlighted. With the footnote selected, click the minus button in the Comments & Footnotes toolbar at the top of the Inspector, located immediately below...

Re: Mysterious space preceding images

Brilliant!

Selecting the image and changing the line-spacing has fixed it!

Thanks!

Mysterious space preceding images

I'm currently working a project that includes about a dozen images. I tend to drag images into the editor from outside the project folder, although I have also used the menu Edit > Insert > Image from file. The first image placed normally, and I have inserted a caption beneath the image. However, th...

Re: Adding more than one Dropbox folder to Scrivener for iPad

I think it might work thusly: ⋅ You create the project folder to be shared. ⋅ From within Dropbox, set the folder to be shared and/or send a link to the folder to your collaborator. ⋅ She clicks the link and, in response to the "Copy to your Dropbox?" message,...

Re: Ordering images in an academic book

I'd suggest contacting the publisher to ask if they actually want the images in the text file, or if the image should be provided as separate image files. If the latter, just insert the figure numbers and captions at the appropriate point in the text, but not the images. EG: [Fig. 01. The quick brow...

Painless 1.6.0.0 Upgrade

I reecently saw an upgrade was available, but I didn't bother to install it as I was busy doing other things. When I had time to install the update, I took the precaution of checking the forums first, in case there were any problems with the upgrade. I saw a couple of posts about dodgy upgrades, inc...

Re: Seem to have lost a lump of text

Also, as the default backup behaviour in Scrivener actually uses (writes) zip files, I think providing the complimentary read function has an elegance that fits right in with the whole "why doesn't it just work" agenda. We'll give it some thought. The main thing to avoid is people editing...

Zip files

I posted this suggestion/feature request in the Technical Support forum, but thought it might a good idea to include it here too: AmberV wrote: Scrivener will not open .zip files. Perhaps that could be a feature to add to the wish list. It would be quite handy if Scrivener could leverage the functio...
