This article is a bit old, but I I hope it is still useful:

Thank you Keith. Dare I mention the False Consensus Effect (*again*)?

Re: Lost A Major Amount Of A Story I Was Writing

The standard method for undoing an action in iOS is to shake the device. I don't know if this works in Scrivener on iPad as I've never tried it.

Re: nvALT replacement?

Yes, there is a lot of sense in this, but I'm slowly realising that this is not the "problem". Over the years, I have grown accustomed to having nvALT popping up at the side of my screen when I need it. It occupies very little space, and is available almost instantly. I use it as a place t...

Re: nvALT replacement?

I deleted FSNotes from my computer and phone, so I might have to revisit this at a later date, but thanks for the information. I only use nvALT in vertical window format. One of the things I dislike most about the recent slew of notes programs is the three pane horizontal format. It is fine if you a...

Re: nvALT replacement?

I've been interested to see how differently people view nvALT, and consequently how differently they use it. I would never have considered Ulysses as a replacement for nvALT because I don't use it as a notes repository -- I use it as a quick capture program. When I get more than a certain number of ...

Re: nvALT replacement?

I'm not a geek, so I've got a bit sick of the whole "plain text is wonderful" thing. I could as soon fly to the moon in a rowing boat as I could write a script, and dabbling with TaskPaper taught me I was wasting my time trying to use plain text. For me it is a huge obstacle to productivit...

Re: nvALT replacement?

Aaaahh yes -- thank you, I'd forgotten that one. I'll give it a try. Good to see it has a vertical layout (something that seems to be missing from nvUltra). And good to have a recommendation from someone who has used it as well as nvALT. I always get a chill when I hear that a useful piece of softwa...

nvALT replacement?

Some of you may know that there is a replacement for nvALT in the works. I have just seen it, and it doesn't fit my needs (at the moment -- I suppose that might change) because it doesn't support RTF. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a program that would be a better replacement for nvALT for the ...

Re: Help! None of my old files can be opened!!!

Unfortunately, Google Drive is known to corrupt Scrivener projects. One of the technical staff may be able to help you, but in the meantime it would be a good idea to conduct a search of the forums for information about this, and probably look at the FAQs on the site. Edit: this advisory is pertinen...

Re: Scrivener on old iMac

The machine needs to be capable of running MacOS 10.12 or later. The Apple website will tell you what that model is capable of running.

Re: Importing MarginNotes 3 mindmaps

What does it look like in iThoughts? And what does the OPML look like? Note that the Scrivener preferences offer the options to put notes into main text, synopsis, etc, so you might need to change that.

In Scrivener, open Preferences, go to Sharing, then choose the right options in OPML.

If you can export from Marginnote to an OPML file, I would think that would work.

Re: Scrivener 3 for iOS & Scrivener for Windows version questions

That link is to the MAC App Store, not the iOS App Store. They are two separate things. Version 3 of Scrivener is for Mac (and soon for Windows), not iOS.
