Re: Keep Together

@nontroppo is the local expert on LaTaX ( https://www.latex-project.org/ ) and Pandoc ( https://pandoc.org/ ), so with any luck they will be along to advise soon. In the meantime, have you looked at the Scrivener project version of the Scrivener manual ( https://www.literatureandlatte.com/learn-and-...

Re: mac to windows change?

would I have to buy a new subscription Scrivener is not a subscription service -- licences are a one-time purchase. You might benefit from looking at the FAQ: https://scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb/purchasing-and-installation . Any project created in Scrivener is saved to the hard drive of the com...

Re: Quick Notes entry from outside the app

@lunk's approach is similar to the one I use (Scratchpad in Dropbox plus a text editor). In fact, it means you can use just about any text editor you want -- even on a phone or tablet.

Re: Cannot cut/paste into Scrivener

And, I suppose, what are you trying to cut and paste? (Text, images, comments?) Where are you cutting this from? (you mention Word, but can you cut and paste from other apps?) And where are you trying to paste it? (in the Binder, in the Editor pane, in the Notes pane?)

Re: can't get rid of space occupying blank areas in table cells

If you cut and paste text from somewhere else, it will probably carry formatting into the cell. You could try cutting the text, pasting the text into TextEdit, converting it to plain text, and pasting it back into Scrivener. Also, be aware that each individual cell will have its own ruler, with its ...

Re: shortcuts to quickly navigate between Binder, Search Results and Collections

You might find it interesting to see the way this guy deals with shortcuts and palettes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vjn5BmhVF6M&t=243s.

It's in German (which I don't speak) but not too difficult to follow, given the quality of the graphics.

Re: MSword/ Office 365 update and Scrivener

I've just opened Word and Scrivener together without a hitch. Looks like it must be something specific to your computer and its setup. When I have "mysterious" problems I usually think it is worth running Onyx or some similar utility just to make sure permissions and other basic stuff are ...

Re: iOS 14 and Scrivener

FWIW, I won't be upgrading my own devices just yet. https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/16/21439674/ios-14-developers-iphone-surprise-release-golden-master-beta-development Katherine Very wise -- but I use my iOS devices for consumption, not productivity, so I'm probably less vulnerable to problems. Re: A frustrated newbie here ...

Remember, Scrivener is not a wysiwyg word processor, like Word or Pages. You shouldn’t bother about the final layout while writing. Focus on the content, not the way it looks. I agree that Scrivener uses a radically different approach to that used in a word processor, and ignoring formatting is the...

So, Mark -- I assume you are asking because you want to play games with high resolution graphics -- perhaps Call of Duty, or some such? :D
