Re: Unwanted Capitalization

I have to say that my strategy with new computers and new applications is to turn off almost every "auto" feature I can find. There is nothing I hate more than a device assuming it knows what I want better than I do. In most cases it is wrong.

Re: Tutoring/job post: Learning How To Scrivener to LaTeX to PDF

I find myself wondering if it is strictly necessary to use LaTeX. My thesis never went within a million miles of LaTex, I just compiled to RTF and went from there. It was a long time ago, it is true, and LaTeX was probably less fashionable then, but I wonder if the process needs to be that complicat...

Re: Formatting for Index cards. [bold, italic, underline]

One "solution" might be to use Markdown formatting (*italic*, **bold**, etc.). Not perfect, but perhaps better than nothing.

That is a very old version of the MacOS, too. It now looks like this:

Re: Scrivener Exporting...Doesn't Export?

If you want to scan a finished manuscript with Zotero, it would be better to go File -> Compile... then select Rich Text.

Re: How to insert my signature?

Elsewhere on the forums the original poster stated that she is not very knowledgeable about software and computing, and pleaded for tolerance (she stated that she had not known what iOS was, and had been flamed for displaying this lack of understanding). So I deliberately tried to offer the simplest...

It has seemed much bigger over the past year or so ... And don't give up on the idea of signatures. Plenty can be achieved with a little ingenuity.

Re: How to insert my signature?

Do you mean a "handwritten" signature? If so, I don't believe you can do this directly, though I'm ready to be proved wrong. Some years ago I used a graphics program and "wrote" my signature (you could probably do it on your phone using your finger), and saved that as a graphics ...

Re: Is there any hope? (Missing text due to sync error on my part)

For future reference there is a Mac program called iMazing which allows you to look at files on an iPad. I haven't used it for a long time so I don't know how good it is these days. https://imazing.com/

Re: Legibility of Big Sur UI

Aaand ... having tried dark mode I cannot stand it! About thirty seconds was enough. I can't see a thing nor understand what I'm looking at. I'm going to suggest you look at dark mode again, and tweak your colour settings a bit in Preferences:Appearance, using the greyscale sliders in the Colour Pi...

Re: My Feedback from a Scrivener Trial

Perhaps it needs stating explicitly that (as I understand it) the text engine that lies under Scrivener is Apple's, and Scrivener is merely using what is provided by the system, therefore Scrivener has no real control over it. If the implementation of styles is lacking, that is down to Apple. This ...

Re: My Feedback from a Scrivener Trial

You have completely and totally misunderstood my comments and what I was looking for. With the greatest respect, I don't believe that is really the case. It seems clear to me (and I think it was clear to Login) that what you were looking for is a program that would deal with the visual aspect when ...
