Feature request: 'Lock in Place' to supersede 'Previous/Next document'

Hi! Took a quick search, and didn't see a topic for this. (Usual intro about how I'm Scrivener user of many years, two platforms, three versionS, love you more than life, etc...) Love being able to 'Navigate -> Editor -> Lock in Place' (with keyboard shortcut). Also love being able to 'Navigate -> G...

Re: Bring back the Lock Inspector to Editor button, plz!! :)

Thanks! The right-click trick is very helpful.

Would still be slightly easier and quicker if you brought the button back. :) So consider this a vote for that in future releases. :)

Re: Set language

Same here. Every time I open a project I have to open the Spelling and Grammar window and tell Scrivener, AGAIN, that this project is in U.S. English. (I live in the UK, so my system dictionary is set for that; I write overwhelmingly for US audiences, so my writing uses US spellings.) EVERY SINGLE T...

Bring back the Lock Inspector to Editor button, plz!! :)

Hi. Chuffed to have just upgraded to 3. (Background: wrote probably my last 12 novels in Scrivener, plus two teleplays. Love Scrivener more than life.) But now find in 3 the little lock icon in the Inspector is gone. In the new regime, to lock the inspector to one (split-screen) editor, I have to go...

Relational Notes

Here's a crazy one - but it could be a game changer: As I'm transcribing handwritten or voice notes into Scrivener, I often face difficult decisions about which notes document each note gets poured into . Frequently, a given note is relevant to multiple scenes or chapters (or sections of notes), and...

Double-click on folder in corkboard: show cos on corkboard

Hi! Many, many thanks for all you do making this amazing and indispensable powerhouse of a s/w package. Tiny thing. (Apologies if it's been asked before - I did search for it...) When viewing a folder in corkboard view, if I'd like to open the contents of the folder (its child documents) in the same...

Single Document in Corkboard View: Display as Notecard

Hi! [My professional life would utterly suck without Scrivener. Thank you for all you do.] When one selects a folder and chooses Corkboard view, all the documents in that folder are shown as notecards on the corkboard. When one multiple-selects two documents and chooses Corkboard view, those two doc...

Superscript bug

Afraid this is ongoing (0.0.26): For any document created in Mac Scrivener with a superscript in it When opened in Win Scrivener everything after the superscript is also superscripted I have to keep the superscript button on my toolbar, to constantly unsuperscript large blocks of text. Happy to elab...

Undo of deletions restores one char at a time

If I 1) delete a word or section of text by backing over it holding down the 'Backspace' key; then 2) Hit 'Undo' (Ctrl-X) 2 only restores a single character of the deleted text. You have to hit it once for every character you want restored. I presume this isn't the desired behaviour. I'm not sure wh...

Re: Worst. Bug. Ever. (Not Saving)

I've done a clean install of 023, including deleting the previous C:\Programs\Scrivener directory. Seems to be saving fine for the moment. Hope that's helpful. Happy to run other tests. And of course I'll chime back in if I have anything else to report. Oh - yeah: anytime there's a superscripted cha...

Re: Worst. Bug. Ever. (Not Saving)

On the other hand, there is (now) a known work-around: Compiling to RTF.

So I suppose that's more or less sorted, at least as far as losing work goes.

Though I will be spending a lot more time on my Mac going forward . . .

Re: Worst. Bug. Ever. (Not Saving)

Yeah, I'm a programmer, too. (And likely will be forever at this rate, but never mind that . . .) And of course you're right that it's beta software and there are no guarantees. I assume the risk myself. All that said, this was particularly horrible. It's one thing to have to be responsible for freq...

Re: Worst. Bug. Ever. (Not Saving)

Fair enough. Thanks for the tip. (Wish I'd known you yesterday.)

And, I suppose, as my best friend used to say about problems with free software: "That's the price you pay... for paying no price."

Worst. Bug. Ever. (Not Saving)

Okay, after losing an afternoon's writing - TWICE - I'm logging in to research this nightmare of Scrivener not saving your work . I'm not sure if I feel worse, or better, that others have experienced this. I'm posting to make three elephant-in-the-room points: 1) This is actually the worst bug imagi...

Re: Opening files between Mac and Windows

Whoah-hoah! I take it back! I was just zipping the project up to send along to the dev team, and as a matter of clean-up, deleted a 'conflicted copy' version that was previously saved in the project main directory. Then, on a hunch, I fired it back up in Windows - opened no problem! Looks like it wa...
