Re: Richtext for iPad

This looks like it might be good. Does it sync well with scrivener? I have only ever tried to sync on the iPad using plain text format (and then using something like Daedalus), but this has me curious. Anyone know if syncing in rich text works well, has advantages over plain text, etc.?

Re: iPad with a Keyboard

I use the origami incase with an Apple bluetooth keyboard and it works quite well. You do need to use it on a table but it beats the virtual keyboard hands (fingers?) down. I use it with Notebooks to which I sync Scrivener, although I occassionaly get sync conflicts so I'm looking forward to an iPa...

Re: Daedalus for ipad

I agree with you, actually, I thought I was clear on the fact that I like Daedalus more, as a writing tool, not as syncing tool. But I need that charm and elegance to be as efficent as Notebooks, because I need a nice, clean workflow with Scrivener. Thank you for your recomendations. The screenshot...

Re: Daedalus for ipad

Well… all I know is that it works. :D There are other things that work smoothly on Notebooks that not all apps do: I can change the background and font color. I have simulated “night mode” by choosing my own set of colors; I can also change the default family and size font, and there's a wide list ...

Re: Daedalus for ipad

After seeing these comments, I started to think there was a problem on my end. And I was right! I uninstalled, and reinstalled, Daedalus Touch, and now it works perfectly. Beautiful. For some reason it was still acting like it did before the updates. Since its behavior was no different than before, ...

Re: Daedalus for ipad

I'm glad it works for you! There must be hope for me then. But I tried it after the latest update, and the title of each section was included as the first line of the document, following by something like {%$------- . I'm not sure why. You didn't see any of that when you opened the files in Scrivener?

Re: Daedalus for ipad

So Daedalus can sync with Scrivener now without any problem? I agree that it is the coolest app for writing on the iPad. But doesn't Daedalus still have a problem with the way it handles titles? It seems to change the title of the saved plain text files, as well as to add the title (and weirdo symbo...

Re: Scrivener with LaTeX/BibTeX for absolute novice

Doesn't Word have built in bibliographic capability? I might look into that. Maybe writing in Word will solve your problems. Too bad. Word is so . . . boring:-) I wonder if there is a way to get Scrivener into the workflow. It's really a fantastic program for organizing your project (the bigger the ...

Re: Scrivener with LaTeX/BibTeX for absolute novice

I don't know enough about citation managers to offer any insights. Too bad Zotero is flaky. Maybe Endnote is the way to go. The nice thing about working with LaTeX/Bibtex is that it's free, and once you get it down, it does a beautiful job. It's also cross platform (I believe). Is there a specific r...

Re: Scrivener with LaTeX/BibTeX for absolute novice

Hi. I'm by no means an expert in this stuff, but since nobody else has said anything yet I thought I would offer something. It seems to me that *if* your main problem is that Mendeley doesn't scan RTF, then the best solution might be to find another citation manager that does. Learning how to work w...

Re: favorite todo list programs?

I'm not much of a poster, but this thread seems to have stumbled into a dormant obsession of mine: fountain pens. Is there any writing experience more aesthetically pleasing? Nothing comes close. The entire experience of writing with a fountain pen, ink gliding over the paper, changes your thinking ...

Re: Scrivener/MMD/Latex

Hey everyone! Please Disregard my above "solution" to inserting BibTeX commands into MMD. False! I'm not very advanced with this stuff, and I'm still learning. After running more experiments, I've found it doesn't work (i.e., I can't smoothly export to either LaTeX or RTF). And I ha...

Re: Scrivener/MMD/Latex

Thanks Ioa. That is a lot of information. I guess I'm glad MMD3 is coming soon. Do you happen to have a rough time estimate? By the way, I've taken the plunge, and I'm writing in MMD now (basic stuff), and I can utilize the syncing between Scrivener and my iPad. Truly awesome! I love it. As per my a...
