Re: A Note About Upgrading to macOS Catalina

I had upgraded to Scrivener 3.1.4 the day a couple days before. Now the window that asks to be deactivated does not appear. However, when I enter my email and license, I get a message that there is no account with that information. When I click on "recover lost license." I receive an email...

Re: A Note About Upgrading to macOS Catalina

I just opened Scrivener 3.1.3 today (Catalina update last week). Message came up that I needed to upgrade Scrivener, which I did. Then it says I must purchase or the trial version will end. Unfortunately when I went to add the license my current license was not accepted. (Have used Scrivener for sev...

Re: Baseline problems

Yep, I came to that conclusion, too.

Interestingly I don't think NWP has the problem, which I thought used the Mac system.

Thanks, Katherine

Re: Baseline problems

I have tried other fonts. A couple work (i.e., Cambria) except that then the superscript does not reduce in size (same happens in Text Edit). Looks like I will use Mellel/NWP to get everything set properly then take a screen shot and insert into Scrivener. Not ideal, but will at least it will provid...

Re: Baseline problems

Thanks. I am using Adobe Minion Pro.

Tried it in TextEdit and same result as in Scrivener.

Baseline problems

I have been using Scrivener for several years for many projects. Right now I am working with Greek and Hebrew texts. The use of the fonts works well. But in the critical apparatus in the New Testament, many of the manuscripts have superscript numbers/letters. (see attachment 1) But when I apply the ...

Re: Best Fonts For ...

For most of my work I use Linux Libertine Serif and Libertine Biolinum (both do very well with secondary scripts and are free) Libertine Fonts . For collaborative work I find Minion Pro and Adobe Garamond Pro to be excellent choices. I like the italic of AGP better than MP, but overall Minion Pro se...

Stanley Porter

Not exactly bedside reading, but this is the only time I can read something like this. Porter, Stanley E. The Letter to the Romans: A Linguistic and Literary Commentary . Sheffield Phoenix Press, 2015. Unique commentary in that he approaches the text from a literary and linguistic perspective. But t...

Re: Music for writing

For serious writing (which is usually theological in nature) I listen to Taize , about 80 in that play list. But I have a mix of old country (pre-1960) like Skillet Lickers, 1934 Bluegrass Daybreak in Dixie Instrumentals (especially guitar, mandolin) like Nothing to it traditional European music Ves...

Re: Mac software for managing 10+ cross-referenced books?

I don't have anything to add to the discussion. But I really appreciate the requests from Joy, and the following discussion. I began using FrameMaker just two years before Adobe killed it on the Mac. I was really disappointed because it finally gave me what I was looking for. I eventually used InDes...
