Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

Keith, might I just say: Yay! for full-feature loving out-of-touch writer types.

I'll eager for an android version, meaning I'll be waiting longer, but here's for being patient.

Re: Scrivener for Android?

Is folder sync for the Windows version one of the Mac to Windows parity goals for 2014? Without it, there's no kind of bare-bones functionality for us windows/android users who are humbly content to wait without complaint... but keep feeling like good writing ideas are slipping away when on-the-go a...

Re: Wish List

My wish list contribution is minor ... but maybe it's also easy to do?

A "custom zoom" value would be great. Zoom options jump from 200% to 300%, and somewhere in between is my sweet spot. So, either a place to enter a custom zoom value or another gradation between 200 & 300?

Thanks!

Re: How to Make Notes on Android for Later Inclusion

I also use Dropbox to store and sync files into a "Fragments" folder that lives close to the scrivener project. It requires a little discipline to remove these fragments once I've integrated them into scrivener, or just to move them to a folder called "Integrated". But it works. ...

Re: Aeon Timeline's Eventual Pricetag

A humble cheer from the sidelines for a windows version. After researching every available windows timeline software that is under a thousand bucks, I nonetheless went ahead and spent $100 on a package that turned out to be incapable of multiple concurrent story lines, rendering it useless to me. So...

Re: Who's a writer ?

Writing is a two-way street. I used to write, for many years, as a form of therapy or venting, to think things through, to live outside my life for a time, or to live more firmly inside my head for a time. That was one side of the street, where writing was doing something for me -- and then I was No...

Re: Select All text in Scrivenings mode across multiple files

Thank you. I gave the "Converts Formatting to Default" a try and it accomplished what I needed. I would still like to see the Cntl+A function expanded one day for more specific editing (like only moving the indent sizing), but that definitely drops to the non-critical list now. Thanks for ...

Select All text in Scrivenings mode across multiple files

Ctrl+A for "Select All" appears to work if I'm looking at a single text file. When I put multiple chunks of text into scrivenings mode and hit Ctrl+A, text is selected in the one text file where my cursor happens to be. I can't get it to select everything. I've seen MS Excel behave somewha...

Yes, that is nice to know that others also have that quirk. Non-writers look at my funny when I say that :)

Re: Tablet PCs

Well, I've been doing text entry exactly as you describe for several month, now: writing on the screen with a stylus and it converts to typed text. I'm every bit as efficient this way as I am with pen and paper. I can't think without a pen in hand. This has really solved the problem off wasting hour...

I'm also getting the 90-degree rotation for each of the four Cntl+Alt+Arrow combinations. Running XP. Mostly, it's just funny :)

Re: Tablet PCs

I have an android tablet (motorola xoom) and have been doing all my raw writing by handwriting on it and it recognizes the text (does an excellent job, by the way - I've written so many chapters this way). I use dropbox heavily and keep a compiled version of my scrivener project on dropbox for refer...

Re: Android Tablet

I've got a Motorola Xoom with Android Honeycomb 3 for a tablet and I use Scrivener for Windows on the laptop. I've gone through about 6 or 8 different note-taking apps and circled back to Dataviz's DocumentsToGo. It has it's little annoying moments, but it does what I need, which none of the rest of...

Re: Urgent Keyboard Recommendations Solicited!

This will be either terribly off-topic, or dead-on. However, having seen that semi-vertical monstrosity... I, too, will suffer nightmares and anxiety for days to come. So, here goes... I was searching for a good writing keyboard a month or so ago. Bought one of those fancy- looking ergonomic, soft-t...

Re: Books you haven't read but feel you should

The way I look at it is that if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Well said! Of course, I couldn't agree more. These musings are coming from a person who swallows a book for week, on weeks when my job doesn't swallow me. I'm just wondering if a good, mature novel could ever co...
