Best Practices for Poetry

Hello, I'd like to kick off a conversation on how poets use Scrivener. I've been using Scrivener on and off since 2007. From a pure process perspective, the Snapshot feature is the must-have that keeps bringing me back. This has been there since the beginning, and other writing apps with such a feat...

Confusion on Scriv 3 resolving conflicts

I just updated to Scriv 3 on a new laptop (2 wasn't installed, though it was used heavily on my previous laptop of last week). I also use the app on my iPad. When opening my project it 'resolved 'hundreds (at least 350) of conflicts, and plopped a whole bunch of files in a 'Recovered Files' folder. ...

Re: Automatic Capitalization

However... a related issue. When *I* finally found that, and I unchecked "Fix capitalization of sentences", it STILL auto-capitalizes the first letter on a new line (paragraph). I write poems. When I hit return to start a new line, it auto capitalizes, even though I have not hit shift, and...

Re: Better User Interface

I agree completely with Keith and am not advocating for monochrome, just against the concept as color as a shortcut. I can't count the number of unusable web pages are out there because of color combos that blend completely together to me, not to mention charts, graphs and graphics that rely on colo...

Re: Better User Interface

As a colorblind person, it's the 'great shortcut' part that often gets interfaces into trouble. Relying on color to convey information is problematic for me as a user (I know I'm in the 10% minority, but still). Color is a great shortcut - monochrome makes me work harder, looking at the icon. Althou...

Re: *short* wish list from a poet's perspective

Thanks, Keith, for the consideration. Line numbers are perhaps my top personal requirement (though I may be alone in that) and if I could have them without the ruler, I'd be a phenomenally happy and content user!

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: *short* wish list from a poet's perspective

Huh...who knew? Very useful!

Thanks. Don't suppose you have an equally crafty way to show line numbers without the keyboard, do you ;-) ?

Thanks for the quick response and great support,
Jeff

*short* wish list from a poet's perspective

Hi Keith, Awesome program, I use it every day. I've used similar applications going back to CopyWrite around 2005, lots of work in Ulysses but Scrivener really feels like home. I have but *two* small feature requests that for my uses would make the program perfect. Okay, one small and one large, but...

I would love to see a screenshot of your organizational structure!
