Bug in Scrivener for Mac

I think I've encountered a bug in Scrivener for Mac OS. It involves scratchpad. When I try to type a heading for the note I'm working on, I get a message that there has been a critical error and a bunch of computer language describing the error. It happens just about every time I do this. I have sen...

Re: Getting Ready for iOS

After thinking about it, I decided to just put each file in its own folder and be done with it. Also, I've started using Hazel to color code all files for a project, so I can see them, no matter where they are. Hopefully, I'm now ready for IOS DAY!!! :D Thanks for the quick answers. You've both been...

Re: Getting Ready for iOS

Thanks I'll create aliases. Should be very helpful.

Also, a nit-picking question: I've got two Scrivener files I work on daily. One is a book I'm writing, the other is where I write my blogs. Can I put them in one folder for syncing with iOS, or does each of them need it's own folder?

Re: Getting Ready for iOS

Ok, now I'm confused. I have a folder on Dropbox with all sorts of writing files: Scrivener files for blogging, books, etc, Curio files, Omnioutliner files, Flying Logic Pro Files, DevonThink files, Bookends files and Aeon Timeline files. I use it to sync between my MBA and Mac Pro. I put all the bu...

Re: Scrivener for iOS - When?

I, for one, never doubted that Scrivener for iPad would eventually be finished, and that when it was, it would be great. Congrats Keith on a huge job well done, and thank you for creating Scrivener. It's life-enhancing software.

Re: Scrivener for iPad

I need something that I can write with now. I've tried various iPad solutions and find that I need access to the outlines and notes I have in Scrivener to be productive. I hate to spend the money for a mba if Scrivener for iPad is coming soon. Which is why I'm asking.

Scrivener for iPad

Any idea if Scrivener for iPad will be out this spring? I'm thinking about springing for a MBA if it won't.

Re: Ipad Mini and Writing

To get back to my question to Keith for a moment, is the screen on the mini sufficient when using Scrivener? I plan to use an external keyboard, so that part is of no concern.

Re: Ipad Mini and Writing

Will the iPad Mini work ok with the iPad version of Scrivener, or will the screen be too small?

Ipad Mini and Writing

Has anyone tried the iPad Mini as a writing tool? If so, how does it compare to the iPad?

Re: Mountain Lion now available

mountain lion pushed both my laptop and desktop into obsolescence. i've heard my ipad will go the same way with the next upgrade to its operating system.

i can't afford this $19.99 bargain.

siri

ummm ... has anyone else noticed that siri is more hype that reality? maybe it's just that siri can't understand a southwestern united states accent, but it's usually more trouble than it's worth for me. i've seen ads that portray siri understanding and responding to all commands. but me? i have tro...

Re: Online Storage Recommendations / Warnings?

Just a thought. I sometimes deal with sensitive information on my job. One of my main ways of protecting this information is to NEVER put it on a laptop. I also password protect my laptop and encrypt the hard drive with FileVault. This isn't paranoia on my part. It's actually reasonable, given my jo...

Re: Macbook Air and large Scrivener files

Thanks for the replies. As usual, they were full of helpful information. I am going to replace my laptop, and I think I'll stick with the 13 inch screen size. (That's today; who knows what I'll decide tomorrow.) Macrumors says to wait because mbp upgrades are coming soon. So, I'll wait just a bit. Y...
