Re: How to change Dropbox account Scrivener syncs to

Got it! Thank you. For the benefit of others, there are two different gear wheel preferences on left and right at different times. If you don't find Dropbox settings on one, look for another (mine was bottom right of the screen). I did not need to go into the Dropbox app to make the change as it hap...

Re: How to change Dropbox account Scrivener syncs to

Thanks, lunk, and that was in line with what I was expecting -- except that I can't find a way to unlink. (I'm using the iPhone app).

How to change Dropbox account Scrivener syncs to

It's a silly problem of my own making -- but I have linked one of my iOS Scrivener apps to sync to the wrong Dropbox account (I have two). How do I 'detach' it and reset Dropbox with the right account? Even after deleting the app and reinstalling, it still loyally auto-connected to Dropbox -- but I ...

Scrivener iPhone views -- emulate the app store preview?

As an every day user of Scrivener on all platforms including iPad and iPhone, I am intrigued to know how to achieve the app store preview screenshots 2 and 3 'Grow your manuscript your way' and 'See the forest or the trees'. It's the preview of the iPhone app I am referring to. This looks like a sub...

Internal links to navigate longer documents

I'm used to navigating by jump links -- many writing applications and some notes apps allow you to set bookmarks as locations to navigate to, but I'm aware that Scrivener uses 'bookmarks' in a different, cross-document context. So let's stay with internal links. I would really value a quick way to n...

Re: Sync challenge on iPad

Are you sure that your iPad is looking in the right directory on Dropbox? In the folder where you have saved the project on the Mac? A detail: In the iOS Dropbox app you should see a folder, not a file. The project is a package, i.e a folder looking like a file in Finder on the Mac. Yes, it is the ...

Sync challenge on iPad

GenerallyScrivener sync works OK for me when I remember to do it manually both ends... However my new iPad is causing me difficulties. I don't see the file I am working on, in Scrivener Mac. I have read and re-read the relevant KB support doc. Very helpful. But the sync is still elusive. I have chec...

How to link to a bookmark or para

I use document links – with gratitude. Now exploring whether I could link to a specific paragraph, I came across this discussion post which also mentioned bookmarks. https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=55943&p=284957&hilit=internal+links#p284957 Having downloade...

Re: Save to Dropbox sometimes does, sometimes doesn't

Thanks, Katherine ... a couple of helpful suggestions. I'm just out to get Scrivener working, saving and syncing more reliably. For me, this is a Scrivener/Dropbox issue only and it is occasional and overcomable, but like any unreliability it is annoying. From my limited experience but quite wide us...

Re: Save to Dropbox sometimes does, sometimes doesn't

JimRac posted: Be sure to monitor the status of the DropBox app on your Mac. Perhaps it's pausing for some reason. On my PC, if my wifi is having issues, the DropBox app will pause, and the app does not always immediately come back online with return of wifi--sometimes it takes a while. So if you ar...

Re: Save to Dropbox sometimes does, sometimes doesn't

Thanks for responses. Dropbox is set up conventionally and everything saves to the one folder, nothing on the device, Mac or iOS. I have read the manual and the guides and I am not finding answers. As explained, when I "Save" and then "Sync" on the Mac, changes are (often) not re...

Save to Dropbox sometimes does, sometimes doesn't

I'm using 3.1.1 on a Macbook Pro and also the iOS apps. All set up to save and sync on Dropbox, which is very reliable on other apps. I have just lost 2 most recent chapters while investigating why they wouldn't sync to either of my iOS apps. However I tried to save, and to sync, on all devices, the...

Re: Scrivener + Scapple ... writing and mapping on the same application

I would like Scapple to work from within Scrivener. It's a logical way to progress.

Till then, I'll explore bookmarks.

Re: x-callback-URL

Thanks, AmberV, helpful clarity.

I would note that iOS can do folders now, so a callback from Mac to iOS or iOS to Mac could invoke the Scrivener app and folder (they would be synced) on either platform. I understand that a full callback scheme would present some challenges.
