With the whole world moving to a subscription based payment system, I am greatfull that Lit and Lat is selling Scrivener at an affordable price. I bought the iOS version as well and would have payed more. Scrivener iOS is a fully functioning app and not a viewer. Expecting it for "free" fe...
I am looking forward to seeing Scrivener on iOS. But, its inclusion in the platform is not suddenly going to make me a better writer. I would love to see a mature product with the syncing kinks worked out and I am sure that L&L will put out a solid product. I have been playing with the new Ulyss...
I liked the new changes to Launchbar. I can read it now. However, I'm sticking to Alfred because the new Launch bar doesn't really offer me anything more. Although, I have always liked Launchbar's ability for instant send (Alferd has it to,but you have to remember a different keyboard shortcut) and ...
That said, my "holy reorganization Batman!" moment came when I started to understand how powerful splitting docs into smaller segments really is. Talk about making my non-linear ramblings easier to manage... Have to emphasize Jaysen's comments. There is something powerful about the abilit...
I think Scrivener can be overwhelming for people because there are so many ways to organize it. But, I what I found revolutionary with Scrivener is that it truly is a non-linear Thought processor(I can write whatever part that I want to write and I am not tied to a particular structure). Write the h...
I've used Tree and I find it interesting. I think it is better for highly structured documents with a timeline- novel, plays etc... , where it is good to have structure and content visible. How are you using it differently than a regular outliner ? What types of documents are you outlining ? How doe...
The new CP notebook for iOS does not add any new features, but it is compatible with the new xml format for CP. This means it is a whole lot faster (and more useful) than its predecessor. Outlining is still a bit clunky but its speed is a definite improvement.
I think an iPad app would be neat. But, to be honest when I write in Scrivener, I want space and lots of it. Multiple screens - even better. I prefer writing something more complex on my iMac vs my Mac Book Air because of the extra screen real-estate(I am over 40 now, so this may have a role to play...
I seem to recall that Hugh persuaded me to buy Curio 7, but alas, I never took time to work with it much. So I upgraded to version 8 and see that it's just as complex as ever, but it has evolved into more of a note-taking and planning tool instead of presentations. Will try to persevere, this time....
Has anyone tried BitTorrent Sync for Scrivener files. I have been using it for regular files and it is fast. But, I have not have the courage to try a .scriv file yet.
I think Scrivener is a lot more "complete" tool for idea processing. Word pretends it is a never ending typewriter with some afterthoughts that it is hosted on a computer. Scrivener on the other hand is written to get the ideas out first. But, I like to use more than one tool - Scapple/iTh...
