Re: Scrivener 3.0 for Windows

Why is this in the Tech Support forum? I was also a Beta1 participant during that period, but I don't understand this post. Hey everyone, I believe Scrivener for Windows history speaks for itself. For version 1 we spent around a year in beta; I still have the nightmares - don't ever try and build yo...

Re: Creating an Index for a scrivener document

I don’t know what you’re referring to as “finally” having the Kindle export “fixed” (it works quite fine in v2), I was referencing the problem fixed in version 3 with exported files displaying incorrectly in Amazon's "Look inside" feature and within Kindle desktop applications. Scrivener ...

Jutoh has supported this simple feature forever

I have to export from Scrivener then import to Jutoh to do this. Jutoh has supported this forever. What good is it to finally have the Kindle export fixed if nonfiction writers can't do something as simple as generate an index? I would have preferred you worked on that major problem before spending ...

Re: When do we get another update?

I don't have a definitive word on this yet, but the estimate is a minimum of three or four weeks from now. In addition to the holiday break, Lee took a much needed vacation from a solid year and a half of coding, so that's why there has been a bit of a lull since the last update. Thanks, Amber. Bet...

When do we get another update?

It seems like ages and all the odd bugs are driving me crazy. Hopefully, someone has reported the random crashes. I've had to uninstall and reinstall a few times for this. Also, cutting and pasting from one Scrivener file to another is a recipe for disaster. Thank God for backups. When do we get ano...

Re: Scrivener 1.03 Crash at Startup

Do you know if Scrivener is trying to auto-load a project when it launches? It could be that causing a glitch, so if you rename or move that project's .scriv folder in Windows Explorer, you can try launching Scrivener again and see if takes you to the New Project panel and lets you work normally. O...

No. The title bar paints, then the app freezes, before the rest of the app is even visible.

Re: Scrivener 1.03 Crash at Startup

As I mentioned, I completely uninstalled and re-installed several times, and I ran every beta version and the initial release version without any problems running. The only problem I had was the crash on close of the first commercial version. Yes, right now, I am set to auto-load the last project, b...

Scrivener 1.03 Crash at Startup

Since upgrading to 1.03, I have not been able to get Scrivener to run. It locks up before the initial screen is painted and remains frozen until I force the OS (Windows XP sp2) to kill the app. Then I get the OS message regarding Scrivener crashing and asking whether I want to send information to Mi...

I get the same, registered user on XP. It pops up after I close Scrivener, but does not seem to have any adverse affect while I'm using Scrivener. Looking at the details of the crash, I've seen... Re: Error message on install release 1.0

For me, the install hangs trying to verify the C++ runtime files, so there is no clicking through the error. My only option was to stop the install via the task window. Scrivener runs now, but occasionally crashes. I'd like to uninstall and do a complete reinstall. I've tried, but the install still ...
