Custom Meta Data Sidebar Fields... wobble and flop flop?

Sorry, this is perhaps a niche issue, and not a show stopper, but still a highly visible irritant so I thought you might want to know: With certain sizings, the Custom Meta Data fields can't decide whether to display fully or not, and sort of wobble and flap between the two. I have an mp4 capture of...

Re: Section Types and Assigned Layouts: (1) option to see table rather than previews, (2) option to take layouts from ty

Thanks for your response. I was surprised by your suggestions, since I am reasonably familiar with the various windows, however I still took the time to go back and check. First: You might try clicking the "hide unused section types" button in the lower left corner. Katherine That just rem...

I should have said that I am using the latest Windows beta. This is what we have at the moment:

There's no way of telling at a glance what's going on.

Section Types and Assigned Layouts: (1) option to see table rather than previews, (2) option to take layouts from types

(1) The Section Layout previews might be helpful to some people, but the format makes it impossible to see at a glance what's assigned to what. It would be really helpful to have the option to see a table, or even just switch off the previews. (2) It would be really useful to be able to grab the Lay...

Yes, this has been bugging me too. It really reduces the utility of Outline View.

Re: Styles are super flaky in general

Oh good. I thought I was going mad. Elements of the style seem to apply randomly - e.g. sometimes the font, sometimes not the font. The only thing I'd expect to be style proof would be locally applied highlighting - bold, italic, underline. I assume this is all on the fix list?

Just to add something that should have been obvious: this feature would be really very useful for tracking date and time!

Re: Support continuity via a "Fill Down" type button for user defined fields e.g. tracking character costume

Thanks for the long response! I suppose the real issue is having dynamic information at the finger tips. Currently I'm doing it by copy/paste. A grab button would make it easier to do this without breaking flow. I think non-fiction authors might also find it handy, e.g. to track concepts as they unf...

Support continuity via a "Fill Down" type button for user defined fields e.g. tracking character costume

This would be incredibly useful to writers like me, but I've no idea if it's technically feasible or whether it's a big ask. Continuity is frankly a pain in the ****. Quite often, characters have important statuses or variables that change over the course of the story. This is especially true of Lit...

Given coronavirus, are those of us using the Beta going to be... discommoded on the 31st?

First, to be clear, I hope everybody at Literature and Latte are safe and well and doing everything to stay that way. And I also appreciate that this is a beta, so those of us who have been using it "for production" chose to do so at our own risk, without creating any obligation for L&...

And thank you for coming down this rabbit hole with me! (I actually bought a bigger monitor so I could use this feature.)

Re: Corkboard "Arrange cards in rows" button vanishes and "grid" won't display.

Thanks for taking the time to respond in such detail. Please bear with me... I followed your instructions. Everything displays fine at book level: Corkboard at Book Level.GIF However, not at Act Level: Corkboard at Act Level.GIF On further tinkering I discovered that Act 3 was empty. As soon as I ad...

[LH4358] Corkboard "Arrange cards in rows" button vanishes and "grid" won't display.

Hi - Sorry to be a pain! I'm using "Version: 2.9.0.38 Beta (833014) 64-bit" In Corkboard, the "Arrange cards in rows button" is vanishing when I select the middle level of three tiers of Folders So I have Book(folder) - Act(folder) - Chapter(folder) - Scene (file). It's fine when...

Binder Affects Inspector (for Outline)

Forgive me if this already exists in the Windows beta - I can't seem to find it. In Outline, When I select a (e.g.) Chapter in the Binder, the Outline pane displays its Scenes, and the Inspector displays the Chapter's Synopsis. However, when I edit a Scene synopsis in the Outline pane, the Inspector...
