Re: Markdown to odt Crashes

Scrivener is compiling to Markdown, insofar as I get a plain text file with an *.md extension and the Markdown tags are present, ## For a Section Heading When *text* should be in italics. But I couldn't get these to be converted to Word/Open Office sections or italics when compiling to .docx and .od...

Re: Markdown to odt Crashes

I didn't install any plug-ins. I didn't even know there was a Multimarkdown plugin that could be installed.

Re: Markdown to odt Crashes

I didn't install any plug-ins for Scrivener and am writing Markdown in the editor as if it were plain text.

Re: Markdown to odt Crashes

I would try upgrading Pandoc first, as 1.19 is pretty old at this point in time. I’m currently using 2.13 on the Mac, and it is compiling cleanly. If you can’t upgrade it for some reason, maybe switch to using the Processing pane to supply your own command-line options. I can’t reproduce the MMD→OD...

Re: Markdown to odt Crashes

Update: I compiled to rtf, then opened the document in Libreoffice and saved it as a txt file. I can now convert the text file using pandoc on the command line, outside of Scrivener. That doesn't solve my .tex problem, but it gets me closer. And I wonder why I can't go directly from a document writt...

Markdown to odt Crashes

I wrote a document using basic Markdown. I'd like to compile to both .docx and .tex. Compiled to .docx, except that crosshatches are still crosshatches and not converted into sections; *highlighted* words are enclosed by asterisks and are not italicized. Tried Multimarkdown to .odt as .odt to .docx ...

Re: Buying Scrivener on Mac - any difference between buying on website or in AppStore?

Appstore customer service is automated and heavily relies on algorithms. L & L provides individual service. If the algorithm shut you down on the App Store, good luck sending emails. Sure you can go into your local Apple Store, but that assumes you have access to one. That may not be the case if...

Re: Making an index?

If you compile to pdf, there are a couple of commercial programs (Pdf Index Generator is one) which let you create an index, but it's really more of a concordance. You can tweak the automatically generated output, but that might take a while, especially if you have a long work. The problem is removi...

Re: Add Page Break

"If you have a page you don't want, I don't see why you're thinking of adding a page break. Then you'd have TWO blank pages." You're absolutely correct. My bad. I was looking for something along the lines of the LaTeX \cleardoublepage command. But... "Absent all that, here's my best g...

Re: Unreadable code when copy Chinese characters in PDF compiled by Scrivener

Try pasting into TextEdit first.
If it looks OK there, Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, then copy into Scrivener.
If it still looks bad in Scrivener, it's an encoding problem.

Add Page Break

I've compiled my 230 page document but I'm getting a blank page 5. Is there any way to put in a page break at the bottom of page 4 but otherwise not touching the rest of the document? Insert=>Break=>Page does not fix the problem. Right now there is a page of text (pg 4), followed by an empty page (p...

Re: How to make: leaders, dot leaders, or leader dots?

I changed the page setup from Printer to Scrivener and changed the margins to 1 cm. That seems to have fixed it.

Any idea why it's doing this? Dark picture is the editor, light picture is as compiled.
