Re: "Next style" not working properly

Can someone please repeat the experiment ? All you need to do is create a new style (which you may easily discard afterward) using any other font and font size than what you normally use. Configure the style as in the image below, than see if it uses the default formatting font and font size rather...

Re: Trojan detected at Scrivener start up

today I opened Scrivener and my antivirus (360 Security) notified me that there's a trojan virus named "paddle.exe" which is executing from Scrivener's paddle folder Your AV program, like many others in the consumer market, is hyper-alert to the point of a false positive. The Paddle code ...

Re: Cover not shown on Kobo (ePub)

The other solution is to have Scrivener 3 export as Kindle mobi, then transform it into ePub 3 (not ePub 2) via Calibre. Just a minor footnote here, but so you're aware, when Scrivener 3 compiles to mobi, it's compiling to ePub and then running KindleGen (from the Kindle Previewer application bundl...

Remember that old phrase, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink?"

Re: "Right Indent" is extremely misleading (Scrivener 3)

Virtually all word processors consider a right indent to be how much the text is pushed-in from the right margin. And, in fact, most typesetting systems did it the same way too. Scrivener is not WYSIWYG, nor is it a typesetter. It uses a completely different model, and thus needs to work differentl...

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Toolbar Display Title

Apparently, relabeling a SUBST drive volume is not allowed. I created one from the command line with "SUBST D: \ C:\Dev\Applications" and it shows up in File Explorer. I then right-click, select Rename, and change the name from "SUSBST Drive" to "DevFolder." I have to ...

Re: Scrivener 3 and Antidote

Looking at Antidote 10's website and documentation, it looks like the way it achieves this "integration" is through general system-level Accessibility APIs and services provided by MacOS, not through any specific work that L&L has done with Scrivener or that the Druide has done with A...

Yes, indeed it is from Scrivener 3.0 for Windows. 1.9 looks quite different.

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Toolbar Display Title

I do get the Rename option. And when I try to change the F-drive (currently named "Windows") to be named "Fiction", I always get a dialogue named "Invalid drive Label" that tells me "The volume label is not valid. Please enter a valid volume label." Apparentl...

Re: Auto numbering titles in the binder and outline view

I would suggest that NO, one would not need the compiler running all the time. One would need the code that already deals with formatting and updates to recognize a subset of codes for placeholders of special value common easy to update numbering and variable replacements that used the same rules s...

Some selective trimming would occasionally seem to be in order, though. ... which is why I quoted the way I did. 8) Good for you! Apologies to both of you. Re: Auto numbering titles in the binder and outline view

Thanks for pointing out that Outliner does this already so the code to resolve chapter numbers in Binder tiles should not harm anything, right? Note that this is not exactly what the Outliner is doing. The Outliner is not attempting to do the work of the Compiler in a live session by checking all o...
