Re: Multiple cursors?

No, I'm not talking about selecting a whole bunch of text. I'm referring to the feature in other applications where you hold down the Alt key and drag down to create multiple blinking cursors so that you can add text to multiple lines all at once. Is this feature avaiable in scrivener? aka "co...

Re: Quick Search not accessible when removed from toolbar

Scrivener for Windows 3.0.0.0 64-bit Per section 11.5.4 of the manual, the Win+Ctrl+G shortcut is supposed to pop up a Quick Search window if you have removed it from your main toolbar. On my installation, it is not doing so -- I *have* to have Quick Search in the toolbar for it to work. Can someon...

Re: How do I fix the search bar?

Section 11 of the manual goes into the specific behaviors to expect from the various search tools within Scrivener. The area you are talking about in particular is the Quick Search, covered in section 11.5.

Re: Can't open expired Beta version to upgrade to ver 3

The upgrade directions say open your beta version, save the settings to file, then uninstall it and install ver. 3. But when I try to open Scrivener, it won't let me. It just gives me the message that beta 17 expired in February, install the new version. How can I save settings to file when I can't...

Re: Windows 3 How do I open existing Scrivner projects

The WIn ver 3 instructions say to save settings to a file before upgrading to ver 3, but I'm unable to open the program at all. When I try, it just gives me the message: "This Windows Scrivener Release candidate expired after Sunday, February 28th, 2021. Please, download an updated version fro...

Re: "Next style" not working properly

Can someone please repeat the experiment ? All you need to do is create a new style (which you may easily discard afterward) using any other font and font size than what you normally use. Configure the style as in the image below, than see if it uses the default formatting font and font size rather...

Re: Trojan detected at Scrivener start up

today I opened Scrivener and my antivirus (360 Security) notified me that there's a trojan virus named "paddle.exe" which is executing from Scrivener's paddle folder Your AV program, like many others in the consumer market, is hyper-alert to the point of a false positive. The Paddle code ...

Re: Cover not shown on Kobo (ePub)

The other solution is to have Scrivener 3 export as Kindle mobi, then transform it into ePub 3 (not ePub 2) via Calibre. Just a minor footnote here, but so you're aware, when Scrivener 3 compiles to mobi, it's compiling to ePub and then running KindleGen (from the Kindle Previewer application bundl...

Remember that old phrase, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink?"

Manual. Interactive tutorial. Forums. Blog posts. Videos.

Re: "Right Indent" is extremely misleading (Scrivener 3)

Virtually all word processors consider a right indent to be how much the text is pushed-in from the right margin. And, in fact, most typesetting systems did it the same way too. Scrivener is not WYSIWYG, nor is it a typesetter. It uses a completely different model, and thus needs to work differentl...

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Toolbar Display Title

Apparently, relabeling a SUBST drive volume is not allowed. I created one from the command line with "SUBST D: \ C:\Dev\Applications" and it shows up in File Explorer. I then right-click, select Rename, and change the name from "SUSBST Drive" to "DevFolder." I have to ...

Re: Scrivener 3 and Antidote

Looking at Antidote 10's website and documentation, it looks like the way it achieves this "integration" is through general system-level Accessibility APIs and services provided by MacOS, not through any specific work that L&L has done with Scrivener or that the Druide has done with A...

Yes, indeed it is from Scrivener 3.0 for Windows. 1.9 looks quite different.
