He gives the hot dog vendor a $10 note and waits.... "Ah!" says the hot dog vendor "change comes from within!"

Re: Where is the Zen in this forum?

Right thoughts produce right actions and right actions produce work which will be a material reflection for others to see of the serenity at the center of it all.” ― Robert M. Re: Bug in 1.7.2 with Kaspersky 2015

Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 is not yet available in the UK. It's confusing but Kaspersky have a staggered roll-out (which clashes with my normal renewal date, of course). Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 (UK) works fine in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 7 and Scrivener... but I'm no...

Re: Performance Issue: Scrivener Hang Up When Switching Folders

I've commented on similar problems (see edenmousemabee post 'memory leak' on 8 November). My project is 53,600 words in 60 files in the draft folder. My computer had 4 Gb memory CPU is 1.86 Ghz * 2 Core 2 Duo Computer is desktop. Nearly 5 years old. Hard drive is Sata 2 Win 7 64 bit. I've tried lots...

Re: memory leak 1.0

A further update. An identical installation and files on my laptop show no period of unresponsiveness. My laptop is also Win 7, but 32 bit. Also, if I save and close the project on my desktop with the Draft file cork board (61 documents now) displayed, the next restart of Scrivener also takes a long...

Re: memory leak 1.0

On my Win 7 64 bit machine (4 Gb memory, 256k video card)) Scrivener.exe *32 shows around 47k memory use. If I click on the top level 'Draft' folder (containing 62 documents) Scrivener is unresponsive for several long seconds and memory usage shoots up to around 450k. Once the cork board is shown Sc...

Re: LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 035 RELEASED

Just a quick update. I uninstalled v29 and installed v35 and unlike previous times the readme displayed and then Scrivener started as expected.

Re: LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 029 RELEASED

I applied Beta 029 without problems; the readme file appeared. At the same time I got a warning from my anti-virus/firewall application, which I gave approval to, but Scrivener didn't start when I closed the readme. This has been consistent (but I can't confirm 100%) through various new releases. My...

Re: Will the Find/Replace facility be fixed before release?

I can confirm that the find facility does find the first instances of the target word, and then will find the next when required, and so on until the end of the document. This works for all selected documents, e.g. a whole book. What the find facility doesn't do is move the cursor, or focus, to the ...

Re: 12th MARCH - LEE'S UPDATE - BETA 0.2.0 LIVE

Just a few photons to confirm that Beta 020 upgrade performed as expected on a Win 7 32 bit platform (Windows firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus). On my Win 7 64 bit platform (Zone Alarm Firewall and antivirus, run at the highest security settings) the Beta 020 upgrade performed as...

Re: Search & Replace limited to current scene

Find is still not working properly. Selected all the documents in the 'Draft' folder, used the 'Show Text View' display, selected 'Find' from the Edit menu, selected 'Find', selected Entire File and still get a Text Not Found box (1). Click 'Yes' to search from the start of the document and get the ...

Re: Search & Replace limited to current scene

I can confirm that in Beta 1.55 Edit/Find/Find or Edit/Find/Find & Replace works only on the current document. Selecting all documents, or selecting the 'Draft' folder or the Outline view does not work - the dialogue box appears but does not update and no 'found' words are highlighted or replaced.

Re: 11th NOV - LEE'S UPDATE

I wouldn't worry too much about the software methodology of bug prioritisation - unless you plan to do it on a regular basis for many, many forum users. If the number of bug-voters is fewer than say 100, it will be as quick to just cut and paste the 'string of 10 comma separated bug-numbers' into a ...

Re: 9th NOV - LEE'S UPDATE

Sorting the RTF bugs out? Yes top priority, no question. All other bugs? Sort out the top 100 and number them 1 to 100 (doh!). Invite people to submit an email (or a forum post if easier?) voting for the top ten bugs - but here's the interesting bit - people are allowed to vote for ten bugs e.g. &qu...

Trivial Tutorial Format Issue[NOTED]

A trivial issue for your information. My Win7 64 bit installation has been modified to show a light ochre background in text boxes by default. It's kinder on my poor old eyes! The text in the tutorial installed with Scrivener has been written (presumably) on different machines - so blocks of the tex...
