Beta Testers Wanted for Scrivener Localisation!

Technical Requirements

macOS: You will need a macOS device running at least macOS 10.12.1.

iOS: You will need an iOS device (iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad) running at least iOS 9.0.

Keep Up to Date

Testing beta software isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. If you would prefer to keep up to date on the status of the project instead, you can sign up for our low-volume newsletter:

Scrivener for macOS & iOS are currently being localised into several languages and we are looking for testers and proofers to help us make these localisations as great as possible for release. As a beta-tester, you will receive access to a pre-release version of Scrivener in return for reporting any issues with the translations you encounter (and of course, if you find any bugs we’ll be happy to look into those as well). The languages we are looking for feedback on are:

If you’re interested in helping, please make sure you have read and understand the points below before signing up, using the form at the bottom of this page.

If you’re still willing to be a guinea pig, go ahead and sign up below. Please note that we only have a limited number of spots open, so we won’t be able to accept everyone who applies. Be sure to fill in the “why you would like to beta-test” form to increase your chances if we have too many applicants. (If you don’t get in this time, we may be looking for more testers again later.)

To submit your application for proofing and beta-testing eligibility, please fill in the following form. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

We are looking for input from people on either platform (if you use Windows, please wait, we are not quite ready for you yet!), please tick which versions of Scrivener you currently use:

Select each language you know well enough to help with proofing. (Note that only one language can be used at a time in the interface, so you will need to manually switch languages to test multiple languages.)

Please tell us a little about why you would like to beta-test, including how familiar you are with the languages you have specified:

(1024 character maximum.)

The Rules

  • I agree not to post about the beta publicly until L&L says otherwise.
  • I understand that the role of a beta-tester is to help find bugs through regular use so that they can be squashed for the release version. When I encounter a bug, I will do my best to reproduce it and will report all issues to L&L.
  • I accept that betas may contain serious bugs and won’t blame L&L if all of my data blows up.

(Because nobody wants bots taking up beta positions!)
