Summer is nearly upon us. To celebrate, we have got together with the creators of the best artisanal software for writers and are offering all our users discounts on some of our products for the first two weeks of June. No matter what sort of writer you are, there's something here for you.
Unfortunately this year's summer festival sale has ended. If you would still like to try out the software, you will find links and information, below.
Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft.
Writing a novel, research paper, script or any long-form text involves more than hammering away at the keys until you reach the end. Collecting research, ordering fragmented ideas, shuffling index cards in search of that elusive structure—most writing software is fired up only after much of the hard work is done. Enter Scrivener: a word processor and project management tool that stays with you from that first, unformed idea all the way through to the final draft. Outline and structure your ideas, take notes, view research alongside your writing and compose the constituent pieces of your text in isolation or in context. Scrivener won't tell you how to write—it just makes all the tools you have scattered around your desk available in one application, leaving you free to focus on the words.
For more information about Scrivener, see the main product page.
Scapple is an easy-to-use tool for getting ideas down as quickly as possible and making connections between them. It isn’t exactly mind-mapping software—it’s more like a freeform text editor that allows you to make notes anywhere on the page and to connect them using straight dotted lines or arrows. If you’ve ever scribbled down ideas all over a piece of paper and drawn lines between related thoughts, then you already know what Scapple does.
Scapple is only available for Mac OS X. See the main product page for more information.
The trial versions of our software are unlockable, which means that once you purchase a licence, you will be sent an invoice for your records which will contain the serial number information you'll need to disable the expiration date in the trial.
(Not compatible with Windows or Linux.)
Keep informed about Scrivener updates and news. This is a low-volume newsletter.
