Hot Fixes
Beta 9 was released on the 27th Sept 2018, unfortunately there were some side-effects from recent fixes that we didn't notice until is was too late. Today, 28th Sept 2018, Beta 10 has been released to addresses those issues. If you did update to Beta 9 then please update to Beta 10 for optimal experience of Scrivener. The issues now fixed in Beta 10 are as follows:-
- Fixed page borders and margins not drawn in Page View mode
- Fixed proper Page View margins, when using printer page setup
- Fixed thin table borders in Page View mode
- Fixed Page View not being wide enough to show full page, resulting in visible horizontal scroll bar
- Fixed Scrivener failing to compile/convert to doc and docx
Refinements and Changes
- Implemented stacked corkboard mode for multiple folder selections
- Implemented a personal item I hope you'll love as much as I do. Help > Search MenuBar. If you're like me and forget your car keys and where specific menu actions live in the vastness of Scrivener, then trust me this is worth checking out. Let's say you've forgotten where the the menu action to Uppercase selected text lives, or any other menu action for that matter - all you now need to know is where to find a single menu action (Help > Search MenuBar) from there you can find everything else; just start typing in the Search MenuBar menu field: 'Uppe'; Oh! And look at that. In the menu search results you can even trigger the action by clicking it. Mac users have been spoilt by Apple for ages with this type of functionality. Scrivener, to the best of my knowledge, will be the first to implement something similar on the Windows platform.
- Implemented
$img
placeholder tags allowing Compile insertion of images (internal or external to Scrivener) along with resize options. Examples of syntax:- <$img:imgName>, <$img:imgNameOrPath;w=x;h=y>, <$img:imgPath>, <$img:My Image Document;w=400;h=200>, <$img:My Image Document>
- Implementded
$include
placeholder tags allowing Compile insertion of plain text and rtf files (internal or external to Scrivener). You can use the <$include> placeholders to have text from an external document inserted into the text during Compile. This can be useful if you have text snippets that need repeating throughout for some reason. Example syntax:- <$include:textNameOrPath>
