Working only on an iPad, Conflict documents were created and later Scrivener synced a good number of files without changes being made:

1. I’m only working on a project on my iPad.
2. At a public wifi spot, I opened it and made changes.
3. I saved it every once in awhile, using the automatic “Sync on Close”
4. I went to save it again and the public wifi had stopped allowing my iPad to use it. (The iPad is wifi only, not cell.)
5. I logged in again on the public wifi.
6. I saved the project, which it did slowly, then said I should be sure to sync Dropbox first. Huh?
7. I clicked continue and a Conflict Document was created. It was an old version of one document I had changed. But I hadn’t opened the project on any other device.
8. I made no changes to the project after viewing the Conflict document, then closed the project.
9. Scrivener synced automatically again, and found 13 files to sync — although none had been changed this time.

I hope these clues might point to how this sync issue could possibly happen.

Sound like the wifi was iffy and at some point you only got a partial sync.

When using unreliable wifi, it's best to disable sync.

See the last few posts of this thread for suggestions: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=36977&hilit=Wifi+Unreliable&start=15

Thanks, JimRac. That clarified both the problem and solution. Much appreciated!
