Inconsistent UI for Image vs. Alias

If you want to interact with an image inserted as a link to a file, you right click. To do the same with a research file imported as an alias, you double click.

The image tools pane is a global utility panel so it stays open until you close it.

In the image you posted, it seems that the editor on the left is showing an image embedded in a file, whereas the editor on the right is showing an actual image document. Perhaps you could post a sample project though.
