I am using Scrivener 2 for Mac.

I am looking for some way to automatically insert the day of the week (Monday, Tuesday etc.) into a metadata field. At the moment I am entering it manually but I wonder if there is some way to set it up so I don't have to keep doing this every day.

Many thanks

What about using the Modified: date in the General Metadata?

I forget how that displays in Scriv 2, but in Scriv 3 I can get it to display the day of the week by going into System Preferences | Language & Region | Advanced | Dates and then dragging the Day of week field up into the Medium area.

In Scriv that then looks like this:

Yes that worked! Thanks very much.

Changing the Short format alters it in the Inspector for me. And changing the Long format alters it for the Outliner.

Much appreciated!
