I don't know if such suggestions are welcome, if not I'll keep them to myself from now on. As an old Windows programmer (Is it safe to reveal such a damning character flaw here?) I'd consider using two button graphics, one raised and one sunken, and swapping them on each button press to fake the selected status look. I don't know if it would work on the Mac or not, but you're welcome to the idea free of charge ;)

When I select File > Backup Project To . . . nothing happens, and the following error (two lines) appears in console.log:

2007-07-27 22:21:16.996 Scrivener[12126] *** -[NSCFString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:withString:]: selector not recognized [self = 0x6548ef0]
2007-07-27 22:21:17.001 Scrivener[12126] *** -[NSCFString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:withString:]: selector not recognized [self = 0x6548ef0]

This happens with at least two different files (with a different value for self at the end of the two lines). OS X 10.4.9. Scrivener 1.06 (1.1 beta)--I didn't miss one, did I?

ahc - this has already been reported earlier in this thread and is fixed for the next update. :)

DarkNStormyNite - unfortunately this never works as well as it should on the Mac, because forcing the toolbar to update the graphic properly is always a bit glitchy so it tends to look very buggy and odd (I've tried it with other toolbar elements already). I think folk'll just have to live with it. :)

Other bugs reported here have been noted and I'm working on them.

Thanks!

Love the product, thought I would test out the beta mainly to see if I can get references into my academic writing at the stage of drafting (which is how I prefer).

Have found a glitch where writing on the title of the index card doesn't refresh properly, as shown by the attached quicktime.

Thanks for all your hard work

Sorry - the quicktime screen capture is too big (500+kb).

Basically, editing over existing index card titles seems not to be refreshing correctly - the old text stays, the blue hightlight stays and the new text is typed over.

I think there's a report of this earlier in the thread, and Keith's response to it ... :)

When I try to use the "Back Up Project To..." or otherwise known as "Save As..." nothing happens:

===== Saturday, July 28, 2007 1:43:03 PM America/New_York =====
2007-07-28 13:43:07.168 Scrivener[1684] *** -[NSCFString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:withString:]: selector not recognized [self = 0xec70590]
2007-07-28 13:43:07.169 Scrivener[1684] *** -[NSCFString stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:withString:]: selector not recognized [self = 0xec70590]

Love the new look and the features even more!

Argh - this is about the fifth time in this thread the Backup Project To... bug has been reported - I know, I know! :) It is fixed for the next update. In act, I already said this only about three posts ago...

The index card title bug has also already been reported in this thread, and that is also fixed for the next version.

Thanks for the bug reports! (But while the thread is still comparably short, please do take the time to check that the bug report you are filing hasn't already been posted. ;) )

All the best,
Keith

Sorry, I only checked from 1-3 and didn't see it there when I scanned it, but did forget to check till 4 since I figured it would have come up by then. My bad.

No problem. :) In all honesty I would rather receive a dozen bug reports about the same problem than none at all!
Best,
Keith
