Finally, the update! Thanks for all the hard work :)

I don't close programs, so it's a good thing I got the e-mail reminding me about the update. I think you're being too optimistic about the release date of 2.0 being this year ;)

To bad I couldn't download the 1.5 update TWICE then combine them together and have version 3.0 (which doesn't exist).

Then I could be ahead of everyone!

:-)

Good to see 1.5 hit GM

Hmm. It seems to work for me just fine, Wock.

Well to celebrate I bought my copy today - just don't bring out 2.0 tomorrow :P

I love it - I'm using it to organise my blog posts on. So much better than anything else I've tried.

Alas, I also need to be led like a child through the update process. I'm currently on v. 1.11. I want to re-download the DMG (whadeverthuheck that means) as you recommend, Keith, so I can re-install Extras, even though I don't know what they are. (One can never have enough extras.) But on the main product page, I only see "Free Trial" and "Buy" options. No links to an update page. Help!

Hi,

Sorry, I should have been more clear about this. Just click on the green "free trial" button on the main product page (or you can go straight there by following this link: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/trial.html ) then click on the "download" button on that page. The trial and the full version are the same thing - once the trial is registered, it becomes the full version. Existing customers do not need to re-register; just download and install the trial version and it will update your current version of Scrivener to the full version of Scrivener 1.5.

Apologies for the confusion.

All the best,
Keith

P.S. Thanks to all for the kind words (and to nextread for buying!).

Thanks, Keith. That worked perfectly. One question, though: the accompanying "ReadMe" file is from 2006-07, and the "Scrivener ReadMe" that came with 1.11 is from 2008--is the 1.5 version missing?

Glad you got it working. 1.11 was released in December 2007, so 1.5 has the same readme as the information is still the same.
All the best,
Keith

Gotcha. Thanks for taking care of us so well, Keith. Now I need to get back to my writing! (And looking forward to 2.0, of course . . . .)

I have always envied your 3.0 status, your hacking skills, and above all else, you ability to photoshop me into silence.

I stand humbled. :-)

Permit me to add my voice to the chorus of approval with a belated but nonetheless huge THANK YOU Keith. I simply can't imaging what goodies you've got planned for Scrivener 2; as far as I can see 1.5 lands just about perfect!

Hi, Keith

I want to update my copy of Scrivener, but I'm terrified that it might not load my finished second novel, written in 1.1. I had problems with files from older versions than 1.1, so can I be confident that it will open my 1.1 novel automatically?

Regards

John

Hi Keith,
Scrivener is saving my life, and thank you very much! I'd love to update to v. 1.5, and want to go for the second option -- the one with the extras (who doesn't want those?).

But I can't find any way to update on your website, save for a complete "new purchase" option. Am I missing something? (Forgive in advance if I have to say Duh...)

Many thanks,
David
