Keith,

I've just bought Scrivener today, not because the price is going up, but because I couldn't wait another day. I'd have paid twice the price for it! But after playing with it for a week or so, it was obvious that it was exactly what I needed.

Thanks for a great app!

I'm looking forward to the 1.1 release, and to how much more writing I'm going to get done.

Keith, really, you should set your prices in £; after all, we want to buy this program from you.

£20 is a hair more than the $39.99, so perhaps go with that; if the dollar plunges, that's our problem and not yours. Why should you be vulnerable to currency shifts? (and pay for the currency conversion fees, etc...)

One other thing; one earlier poster complained that the VAT taxes fund "HM's corgis"; actually the investment return on the Royal family's private assets are handed over to the gov't and more than outweigh the cost of those expenses of theirs that are paid by the gov't.

Really, those taxes pay for the affordable colleges, the free health care, etc. We (the US) should be so lucky...

It is still a great piece of software at a great price. I certainly do not mind compensating a developer for such a great product. Can't wait for the next update. :D

Hi - just thought I'd check whether the new version would be a free upgrade if I purchased now? Am just starting to play around with it, but looks very nice!

I'm writing an academic paper that I thought I'd try to plan and draft with Scrivener, then export to Mellel to refine and add references etc (BTW, I'm using Papers and DevonThink Pro for my article management and searching).

Best, Taman

Hi Taman,

Yes, all 1.x upgrades are free, so if you buy now the 1.1 upgrade will be free. It should be available some time next week.

All the best,
Keith

...regarding that student discount Keith was talking about.

The selling page requires a coupon code for a discount.

Can you drop me a PM please Keith?

Cheers

You don't require a coupon code - just click on "Buy Now" then choose to purchase the educational licence rather than the regular licence if you are a student. The price is then $34.99 instead of $39.95.

I ought to remove this from being a sticky as the price increase has now happened...

All the best,
Keith

£17.50 is less than half that part of yer average stoodents weekly budget, earmarked for substance abuse.

We will have to sail Scrivener in to Plymouth or Portsmouth, for a Renaming Ceremony. We`ll relaunch Scriv as `Le Scrivener Philanthropique`
As a professional, you, are your one and only asset. Without integrity you are worthless, but with it, you are priceless.

39.99 is still very reasonable, considering what I paid for Ulysses, which is (in my opinion) a lesser writer's tool than Scrivener.

Keith,

A $5 increase is modest for all but a few. Glad to hear that 1.1 is out and will download tonight.
