Re: Passing a backslash to Latex

For myself, I created a style for this called “Raw LaTeX”. I use that to mark any text in the editor that needs to be passed through the MMD engine. The compile format has the job of turning this styled text into something, or perhaps ignoring it or even deleting the text. The attached demo project ...

Re: Scrivener 3 Themes

I’m probably not the right person to do so. I’ve never really seen the point of making one window dark—if I need to rest my eyes I invert the whole screen. But mainly I don’t consider the Scrivener window capable of properly achieving “night” status all by itself. There are too many elements that ca...

Re: Macbook Pro Touchbar on Scrivener 3

If a software allows you to customise the Touch Bar, you will always find that command in the same place (as it is inserted by Apple), with the View/Customize Touch Bar... command. For a listing and documentation of the available buttons you have at your disposal, and the different contexts within t...

Re: Hierarchical numbered and non-numbered lists

The simple bullet and listing tool you are referring to is a function of the underlying macOS text engine. We have no way of modifying its core behaviour or making it better without scrapping the whole thing and starting from scratch—i.e. not the sort of thing you can just toss into a minor bug fix ...

Re: Font sizes

Those fonts within the interface itself that can be changed are within the Appearance preference pane. You might want to just go through each section there in the respective “Fonts” tabs to get everything set up the way you like. The sidebar you are referring to by the way is called the “Binder”.

Re: Scrivener 3 Themes

Sorry for the misunderstanding; part of my confusion originated from there already being a dark mode theme posted earlier by derick. I haven’t tried it out myself though.

I'll check and see if there is a feed we can expose for that somewhere.

Re: Quick suggestion: Hoist Binder in contextual menu in Binder

I’ve always assigned a keyboard shortcut to this command, as documented in appendix A.1, pg. 656. I wouldn’t disagree with you in theory, but we’re probably at the point in that menu where adding one thing would mean removing one that is already there—it’s pretty full, and we’ve already removed one ...

Let's try to keep this thread on posting themes we've made and commenting on those themes. There is a whole board for feature requests. Thank you!

Re: Composition Mode

We did make some necessary changes involving composition mode and full screen. I’m not familiar with the specifics of this interaction myself, but the changes were made to reduce fragilities and quirks that existed in v2.

Re: Internal Links Disappear on Compile to Kindle

Kindle eBooks have a dedicated cover metadata, and the devices that read them tend to have an entry in the nav menu to call up that image. ePub tends more toward loose conventions. It’s up to the reader to find the image as I understand it; most assume the first image in the book is the cover. Since...

Re: Outliner wrapping in Scriv 3.0

Yeah with regards to text field handling nothing much has changed there. You have the option to wrap or unwrap text, and the option to display it in a colour. The new option for Text is alignment, which will mainly be useful in the outliner. All of that is in the Project/Project Settings... window u...

Re: Internal Links Disappear on Compile to Kindle

Oh I believe you, I just don’t know how to get that result myself is what I’m saying. I tried around a half a dozen different tests and only got the expected results—so obviously I’m missing something and need your help finding it. Sample data, which checkboxes it takes to trigger the problem, etc. ...

Re: Save as template stuck at "Saving UI states"

It would normally only take a few seconds, it’s definitely getting stuck on something. I would try the instructions in this knowledge base article to save the display settings, reset them, and then reapply them.

After doing that, try saving the template again.

You're welcome Andres.

By the way I've merged the two posts together to reduce confusion and duplication of effort.
