Re: save less?

I do agree with the above, that both of these concerns are best handled as an aspect of general-purpose file management. Typical case would be when looking back at an old project - I want to read it but not update it; the automatic save changes the ‘last modified’ date it gets in the finder, messing...

Re: iOS version be available in Colombia App Stores?

I've checked with the App Store terms, and the reason we cannot provide service to Columbia at this time is that Apple does not provide full business support to the region, unfortunately. As a very small company we do not have the resources to research and implement tax law compliance, and other pap...

Re: Editor freezes for minutes after a compile to PDF

You mentioned before that compiling to anything other than PDF avoids the problem, does this include using the “Print” compile output, including the use of that feature to save a PDF? There are some significant differences between the two in terms of what Scrivener does—it takes a more hands on appr...

It might help. You can send it via PM here, or to our support address. In the latter case, make sure to note down this thread URL so that whoever gets it can forward it to me.

Re: Scrivener 3 : Date + File transfer

At worst, if ever there are problems with the transfer, I suppose I could save everything from a copied and pasted. In any case, very anxious to finally have Scrivener 3 on Windows. That would be highly unlikely. The sort of things that might get lost that I was referring to above are more al...

Re: Scrivener 3 : Date + File transfer

Nope! No more procrastinating for you. ;) In all seriousness though, sure there will be new things you can do, but you don’t need any of them to start writing, and none of them will invalidate what you can do now. The upgrade path we designed is quite smooth, discarding very little of whatever time ...

Re: Page guides on as default

Nice! It seems to be quite popular for making handouts. It’s not something we really anticipated when putting it together, but I can see the appeal.

Re: I am brand new to Scrivener. I am in the tutorial. I ended up deleting the "Resetting Tutorial" file. Pls Help!

If you are unsure of where you saved the tutorial project, then load it from the Help menu, and then use the File ▸ Show Project in Finder command. Once you have it highlighted in a Finder window, close it in Scrivener and then move it to the trash. Opening the tutorial backup files (the bak.zip stu...

Re: Page guides on as default

Most of the things that can be modified in how a .scap file is displayed are saved into the file itself. What this means is that you can create template files for yourself that establish the settings you prefer. macOS has a template system built right into it, so this isn’t even something you have t...

Re: Single Title Suffix Carriage Return (in Title Options) creates Multiple Carriage Returns on Compile

And along that same vein, applying paragraph spacing to the title itself is often a better way of adding space than carriage returns as you will have more control over the amount of space: ⋅  In the “Formatting” tab, put the cursor on the title line. ⋅  Bring up the paragraph spa...

And Firefox has revoked the plug-in for security reasons. Good on them.

Stylus will work with userstyles.org as well, so I’ll continue to refine and maintain the theme there.

Re: Duplicate templates

Yeah that’s possible and it won’t break anything. On the file system the files use to store the templates will have different names (Original-1, Original-2, etc.). It’s the metadata title within the template that determines what you see in the chooser. It might be easiest to right-click on one of th...

Re: Editor freezes for minutes after a compile to PDF

That’s a strange one! Have you tested to see if turning off spell check in the project (Edit ▸ Spelling and Grammar ▸ Check Spelling While Typing) prior to compiling makes any difference?

Re: LaTeX article section types

No worries at all, it's still useful information to a lot of people. :)

As for the beta, I think it is still in a stage where experimenting is the name of the game. I'm not sure if it is ready to commit a major project to yet. But it'll be a good introduction to where things are going at least.

Re: LaTeX article section types

That’s an approach that can be taken with Windows and Scrivener 2. There isn’t a “Compile As-Is” checkbox in Scrivener 3 (or the Windows beta) any more, just like there is no longer a “Page break before” checkbox. What replaced that approach of ad hoc checkboxes and such is a system of types . Basic...
