Re: Any way to "refresh" the scrivenings view?

As you note, the beta still regards Scrivenings as a fixed session once you create it. However this is not a reflection of the intended complete design. Once this is complete, there will be no need to refresh, as all modifications done to the binder outline will be immediately reflected in the any e...

Re: remove auto indent

Just as with the main application formatting defaults, they only impact newly created documents within that project. So the method to bring older documents (including the one you may be looking at when you change your settings) up to the new formatting standard is the same as well: the Documents ▸ C...

Re: Sub-Projects

Having multiple different project binders in the same sidebar sounds like a total programming nightmare to me, given how the binder is designed. I wouldn’t place any hope on that specifically becoming a possibility. But the technical issues aside, would also be a lot of extra complexity to provide a...

Re: How to turn grammar check off?

I've been feeling that way since 10.12 (really, what did 10.13 offer other than more bugs?). However I do really like dark mode, and have been using it in every program that offers it so far. If you do prefer a less bright interface, the update may be worth the inevitable snarls.

Re: Change Created Date of Document

Okay, it seems like there are two different threads of enquiry. I meant the suggestion of using a custom date field to address this question: Sometimes I’ll want to retroactively write a journal entry (e.g. I’m writing about the day at 1am). Also, when a document is split, the newly created document...

Re: remove auto indent

On the Mac, individual projects can have their own default formatting. Use the Project ▸ Project Settings... menu command, and click on the Formatting tab. Enable Use different default formatting for new documents in this project , and set things up in the usual manner. Note this has bearing on how ...

Re: How To Set Paragraph Indentation Index WITH the Use of the Tab Keyboard Button ?

It's worth noting that inserting Tab characters into the file, to produce the visual effect of an indented paragraph, is not good practice and will even mess up formatting in some cases. It's better to use the actual first-line indent setting as shown in your screenshot. Drag the downward facing tri...

Re: How to turn grammar check off?

I've been clicking the "Learn" button on every single one of them, whether it is right or wrong I don't care. Hopefully doing so will shut off the various different ways in which it probes the text, but who's to say how contextual the "learn" feature is.

Thanks, we do have this issue, with how some avatar types are not resizing correctly in the header bar, noted down on a list for the web developers to look at.

Re: NaNoWriMo template Daily Target

I haven't tried it, but they should work! If it's like on the Mac, after the project is created from the template, then it will need to go through the project update procedure, since the template is saved in the older format.

We'll have the new templates and demo version available shortly, as well.

Re: Some Questions Scrivener 2.9.0.8 Beta

⋅  It looks like you’ve already found the place where this change would be made. It’s not impacting the HTML table of contents page though—since this area of the software is not yet complete, I wouldn’t expect everything to be perfect just yet. But your settings are correct, so as it does...

Re: How to show footnotes inside Scrivener at the end of a document

There is no way of doing that in the main editor. With the exception of PDF (in version 3), it doesn’t handle footnote layout or placement at all. The thing that opens the compiled file is what handles that detail. For there to be something like that in the editor it would require a pretty big overh...

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

Any changes made to the speed will be from changes made by Dropbox to the API we use to communicate with it, not OS updates. There isn’t anything we (or Apple) can do to speed it up.

Re: Change Created Date of Document

Granted that this mostly feels tedious because the date-style custom metadata defaults to blank and requires several clicks to get the current date set. (An improvement could be if a date-style metadata entry could optionally default to the current date/time?) There is indeed an easier way of doing...
