Re: Compiling with a specific language

I’ve clarified the user manual, but in short that’s just how the counter works. Since macOS is providing the numbering, and it provides numbering based on the system localisation settings, you get localised numbering in all cases. The only way around it is to temporarily set the system to English, o...

Re: Scapple V.1.30.1 crash on start - MacOS 10.7.5

Unfortunately Apple doesn’t send logs, so if you could get one from your ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports folder and send it in to support that would be great! Meanwhile I would try the stock troubleshooting stuff that’s a good idea to do whenever you upgrade a program and it starts crashing: ⋅...

Re: Auto-Numbering

Given that your desired output matches the result of using the <$hn> placeholder, you might consider using that instead of trying to build your own hierarchical numbering stream from scratch. But if you’re doing this as a learning exercise then carry on. :) That aside, it looks like you might have f...

Re: Scrivener User Manual Corrections

The preserve formatting typo has been fixed there, and also in the What's New section.

The rogue table formatting is fixed.

Re: Highlight names are different

This isn’t specifically addressed in the migration guide you are referring to. I think what you might be observing here are differences in the default highlight colours. This trick works by matching colours, and if there is match then the menu name is changed to reflect the one you provide in the pa...

Re: Problems Opening Scrivener 3

I'm unclear on what you mean by your post---are you saying you applied the fix describe above and it is still happening?

If so we will need more information and essentially debug this from the start with no assumptions---perhaps there is another warning message somewhere with the same problem.

Re: Scrivener User Manual Corrections

Those two problems have been fixed (and the snapshots introduction in general has been reworked and better proofed). I’d hold off on reporting any broken links, as mentioned above: The link should be fixed—in fact I’ll tentatively say all links should be fixed in the next revision. I did a big sweep...

Re: Internal Links Disappear on Compile to Kindle

I did note the renaming you spoke of in the compiled files, by the way. You should get no renaming issues if you have created a “Left Image” style in Styles compile format pane, so double-check that you’ve got that part set up right. I can get left, centre, right aligned images, images with 1/3 and...

Re: Help Search Menu Issue

Given the search feature is a general macOS utility we have no direct control over, and given that this isn’t a universal problem, my advice would be to examine any areas of the menu that are driven by data or configurable. Since nearly all of the above cases would be derived from project-specific i...

Re: Scrivener User Manual Corrections

Meanwhile, I need to work out why headings are copying without spaces! Since they are text based, they can be hinged upon compile settings, and thus you could images into one document format but not another if you pleased. I mean that metaphorically, in the same sense you could say “the outcome of t...

Re: Broken Captions for Binder–Linked & Embedded Images

I’m aware of equation handling, but with this kind of rich text workflow, if you are going to be taking advantage of this capability wouldn’t you not want to put these into an Equation style, or maybe even a section type for them? Never mind the utility of doing so, you aren’t going to want $$^{ix}=...

Re: Reveal in Finder Icon? Duplicate Binder?

If you insist. :) I’ve always liked how the two panes can do whatever they need to do at the moment, be it a PDF file or an outline—but if you’d rather a stricter approach try the “Open Non-Group items in Other” option at the bottom of the Binder Affects submenu. That’ll redirect single-item clicks ...

Re: Label colours in Binder in Scrivener 3

You still have full control over the label colours, you don’t have to stick with the defaults. I prefer a little more saturation as well; the approach I take in my default starter project is to have a bunch favourites already listed with generic filler names, ready to be pressed into use: http://www...

Re: Broken Captions for Binder–Linked & Embedded Images

But Scrivener escapes everything, both square and curly brackets, so no type of citation will survive the “convert rich text” onslaught, nor will any maths or other features that MMD / Pandoc supports that RTF doesn’t. For the former part, is that not the desired result? In fact escaping these is p...
