Re: Default Font weirdness

Thanks for the response. Courier Final Draft is active, installed and working.

I used Edit Scrivenings and Convert Formatting to set them back to Courier Final Draft. If it happens again, I'll try to provide more clues. Hopefully, it was a one-time mistake on my part.

Re: Default Font weirdness

Yesterday, I had dozens of documents displayed in Courier Final Draft.

Today, they are all in Times. All of them. Even the ones in the Trash.

Is there a pilot error that could easily cause this?

Is there an easy way to revert it?

Thanks.

Default Font weirdness

Scriv 1.11 on Tiger. I have default font set for Courier Final Draft(Surprising, no?) in notes, Screenplay, index cards. Worked on it yesterday, everything was fine. Today, I open the file and all my documents are displayed in Times. I go to Prefs, and my default fonts are still set correctly. I res...

Re: Binder sync on Cmd-[

The FAQ doesn't really answer the core design issue. When you use Document>Split, the editor shows the new split document, and the binder syncs to it. Based on that behavior, when you back out to the previous document using CMD-[, the binder should sync to the previous document. Note that I'm not ar...

Binder sync on Cmd-[

Is this the way it's supposed to work? If I click a document A in the binder, then split the document using selection for title, Scrivener creates the new document (B), sets its title and highlights it in the binder. If I press CMD-[ to back out to the original document, it shows the document, but t...

Re: Note trick

I wish that Scivener would append a link to the bottom of the note, pointing to the document the note references. That way, whenever you open the note, you can see what document it refers to. It would also speed up note-taking, because you just CMD-L, type your note, click the link, and you're back ...

Re: Project Templates (new assistant)

I'd suggest a "Business" category.
Reports, White Papers, Business Plans, Performance reviews -- all things that can be improved with Scrivener.

Re: Duplicate w/o text?

KB wrote:Nope, it's a minor bug - I've just fixed this for 1.2, so that it forces a save if necessary before duplicating - until then, just make sure you hit cmd-S before duplicating a file you have just created/edited.

That explains why it went away, too.

Many Thanks!

Looks like it's a corrupt file. Thanks Marcus.

Re: Duplicate w/o text?

I'm not seeing this behaviour in the 1.12 beta Another symptom: When I duplicate the one-line document, its icon has lines on it showing that it contains text. If I drag it in the binder, it updates as a blank icon. Does 1.12b do that? The 1.12 beta has been rock-stable for me so far - might be wor...

Duplicate w/o text?

Is this a bug or a feature? I created a document in v1.11, and typed a single line in the main window (not in Synopsis), to be used as a section heading. I clicked on the icon in the binder and changed the label. Then I duplicated using Cmd-D, and the copy had no text in its main window . It's repea...

Re: Corkboard 2.0

No, no and no. Sorry, but it's not gonna happen. Not this side of 2015, anyway. ...take Scrivener for what it is... Outlandish additions like this make my head ache... So: no. And no again. Did I say "no"? I meant to say "no". ...and all of the above intended in the best possibl...

Re: Corkboard 2.0

I'm a tad curious as to why folk are so keen to have all this built into Scrivener. There seem to be a number of good apps out there that can do the same thing, so I fail to see why this really needs adding to Scriv. Having another app do the same thing is not the same as having a fluid index card ...

Re: Corkboard 2.0

I get the "no" part. That's a shame. FWIW, I wasn't suggesting it would be easy. I was saying that Amber was making it way too complicated as a concept. I was trying to remove layers of complexity. Please don't cast me as ungrateful. I appreciate all your hard work on Scrivener. I simply s...

Re: Corkboard 2.0

I think, if something like this were implemented, it would have to be another view entirely I think that would be fine, if that's what it takes to get KB to do it. It doesn't have to be a deep and complex problem. Just do it like ThreeByFive's "Free Form" mode: -cards added are listed chr...
