Completely unnecessary from my point of view. As you say, why should an editor care
about a widow or an orphan (they're so heartless, aren't they?).

All the best,

Campaign damners, be damed. I'm voting yes!

Scrivener is the best f***ing app I own. Everyone who writes for a living, for fun, for just for the heck of it should know about Scrivener.

Thanks, Hugh, for the UK alert. And apologies to Siren. I didn't mean to keep people hanging, just been kind of busy. The not-so-good-news is that I've learned the truth of what many people have been telling me — that publishers don't sell books, authors do. At my publisher (I've heard that differ...

BRILLIANT !

Best (by far) app I own.

Thank you, Keith. Scrivener has changed everything for me.
And now, incredibly, you've made it even better.

Hi All, Lots to tell since my last post, both good news and not-so. I'll start with the good and post the not-so tomorrow. The good? I received the following note from one of my contacts at the publisher today. Hi Tim, I just wanted to take a moment to offer my sincere congratulations to you – as ...

Hi cooner, I'm thinking you will love Scrivener. I'm a non-fiction writer, and it has saved my bacon. There are a couple of comic and illustrated book writers on the forum. One who is very active is Antony Johnston http://www.antonyjohnston.com/. I'm sure he'll have a lot of useful things to say. Th...

Thanks, Amber. You're a pearl! I'm not sure I can hold a candle to some of those already recommended, but I think those who read it will find it useful. Thanks again, Tim PS I've just learned that the book will get its first national media hit on Sunday, Oct 21. A syndicated careers columnist, Joyce...

Thanks, Franz! Wow, a copy in Germany. I must say that's exciting news. I know the publisher has sold German translation rights (also Mexico, Taiwan, and Thailand), but of course those won't be ready for quite while. I hope you like the book, Franz. More than that, I hope you find it useful. And if ...

More Learnings

Think Better should be hitting the store shelves in the US in about a week's time. As many of you know, it's been posted on Amazon and other online services for a while, and it actually started shipping a few days ago. I've learned a little about Amazon (and myself!) over the past couple of weeks: ...

From what I understand from my publisher, blogs are becoming a significantly more important marketing enhancement. I've also been told that whereas the conventional wisdom used to be that you didn't market a book before the book actually existed, a number of authors have had success using blogs to f...

Hi Jason, Is it in fact a vote? Or is the purpose of the entries to identify apps that may be worth considering in more depth? I had assumed, perhaps naively, that we were simply saying, "Hey, look at this one. It's really cool. In fact, it does what no other app has really been able to do yet....
