Replacing "Show Notepad" in the Window menu will be "Show Scratchpad". This will be a separate notes area that will hover over other application windows when Scrivener is not active, so that you can temporarily paste information into whilst using other programs. Mmmm! Would be c...

Not a dumb question at all! I'd be pretty wary of putting alll my precious work into a new app until I was sure it was stable. I have been using Scriv intensively for about four months now (working on a book and using most, if not all, of Scriv's functionality). I have never experienced so much as a...

For me, the page looks fine on both Safari and FireFox.

(and yes, those are some testimonials... enhancing an already excellent overview)

I did a system cleanup on my machine, and have not been able to reproduce the white line phenomenon. I have a feeling that every once in a while the dear thing just gets a little weary.

Sorry for the false alarm.

Fair enough. I'm in support of a no Friday night bug report policy.
Perhaps we could call it Hold Up D'Alerts.

Thanks, Amber. You're a pearl.

I was thinking Holographic Under Drawers, Head Under Deuterium, Head Up the Derrière, Hosed Up and Down, Healthy Underarm Deodorant, How Understated Darling, Hoffa Under D'Sea... the list goes on.

Thanks

Text rendering glitch

After upgrading to RC6, I notice the text rendering glitch that occasionally occurs in some cocoa apps — a white horizontal line through the middle apparently random lines of text. Sometimes the white line goes away. Sometimes it reappears. I never noticed this on previous Scrivener betas. On my m...

Thanks Keith

A day after our exchange, I noticed what was going on with the word count feature. It seems that in document count, annotations are "in", whereas one can choose whether to count annotations or not in the project count. The discrepancies I was seeing between project stats and document stats...

Document and Project Statistics

I am noticing small but consistent discrepancies in word and character counts between document statistics and the selection statistics in project statistics. This is not a huge problem. I'm just pointing it out. PS I'm having a fabulous time with Scrivener. It's making a huge difference both in my c...

I think what Sakka means is an implementation similar to a feature in OmniOutliner in which you have a "Keep Sorted" command. Whatever you pop into your list (in Omni) jumps to its proper sort position as soon as you've entered it. In terms of the way I've been using Scrivener (early days ...

notes from Jer's Novel Writer user

I've been using Jer's Novel Writer for about four months now, putting it through its paces, and I've been very happy with it. I've used it in conjunction with Mori, which holds a lot of my research and notes. A few days ago, another member of the JNW forum mentioned Scrivener, so I thought I'd buzz ...
