Re: Strange Code Block formatting and character problem upgrading to Scrivener 3, EPUB and MOBI

On the last two: monospace fonts will only be added for styles when using ePub 3. Preserve Formatting will not preserve monospace fonts - you must use styles for this. You need to use the Code Block style (the style set as the "Code blocks style" in the Compile settings) to get the <pre> t...

Re: Unexpected behavior in Compile Format Designer for EPUB3 and KF8/MOBI

The reason for this is that when a style is chosen as a code block, Scrivener just uses some default CSS for it that works well with code blocks - specifically: pre > code { white-space: pre-wrap; -webkit-hyphens: none; hyphens: none; } It thus ignores the other style settings for code blocks, other...

Re: First runs of 3 won't load under High Sierra

Could you please confirm this build works too? (It should if the previous No Profile build worked, but I want to be sure.)

Thanks and all the best,

So the No Profile build seems to be working? Woo-hoo if so!

Re: Before I Buy

Hi, When you buy Scrivener 3 from the App Store, it will be installed as "Scrivener 3", so it will not overwrite Scrivener 2 (which will remain "Scrivener"). Also, they use different Preferences and settings, so your Scrivener 2 projects will not appear in Scrivener 3 automatical...

No, there's no way to get that back, as that is an old look. Scrivener 2.9 is still available on the site if you would prefer to stick with it.

All the best,
Keith

Re: 'Align Text Centre' button in the Text editor is overridden by paragraph indents in the compiler when publishing as

I've fixed this for the next update - centred text will all use 0 indents. As for styles: - Use "No Style" for most text. - Just use styles in the editor for text you want to be different. - You don't *have* to use styles at all when writing, it's up to you. I'm not sure what you mean abou...

Re: First runs of 3 won't load under High Sierra

Please try the two copies of Scrivener in this zip file:

http://www.literatureandlatte.com/dlbet ... 2Tests.zip

I don't expect either will make a difference, but I've changed some code-signing settings as an experiment.

Re: First runs of 3 won't load under High Sierra

Actually, I jut realised Gatekeeper no longer shows the "anywhere" option. You can only get to it via the command line: http://osxdaily.com/2016/09/27/allow-apps-from-anywhere-macos-gatekeeper/ If you download and run Scapple, does that have the same problem? And what about Scrivener 2.9 (...

Re: First runs of 3 won't load under High Sierra

What exactly are your Gatekeeper settings? What happens if you set them to be able to open *any* app, not just trusted developers? (This shouldn’t be necessary of course, but I’d be interested in the results.)

Hi,

I can't reproduce asterisks appearing in titles in the table of contents. Could you possibly post a sample project demonstrating this?

Thanks,
Keith

Re: Questions about MLA Paper Template

Hi, You set the author name in the Metadata area of Compile. So, when you open Compile, you see the contents on the right. Above that are some buttons. You click on the tag icon to show Metadata, where you can set the title and author. The date on the title page just uses the <$longdate> tag, which ...

Re: First runs of 3 won't load under High Sierra

What's interesting in this new crash log is that the file path is wrong. If you look at earlier crash logs, the app file path is: Path: /Applications/Scrivener.app/Contents/MacOS/Scrivener In this latest crash, the path is: Path: /private/var/folders/*/Scrivener.app/Contents/MacOS/Scrivener macOS ha...
