Re: Global style (for every project) + "no style" defaults

Note, however, that the "default paragraph style" default will be removed in 3.0.3. This was added after a request during beta testing, but on reflection it was a bad idea. Scrivener's styes system is built around the idea that styles are only used for text that is different from the bulk....

Re: Double words

Hi Keith, Thanks for your reply, however I disagree with it. With auto-correction enabled the software replaces misspellings with the correct word. All these double words are very common (the, and, been, done) and it is possible that in the replacement of 'th' with 'the' in certain circumstances co...

Re: Mojave Beta and Scrivener 3 compatability

Indeed, only Apple apps will work in Dark Mode at first - all apps need considerable coding to get them to work in Dark Mode, and any app built on an earlier version of macOS will automatically appear as a light mode app even when Dark Mode is turned on in Mojave. Also, Apple does not allow develope...

Re: Double words

I'm afraid to say that I think this must just be a typing issue - I accidentally type double words often when I'm editing as I write, in all apps. I am reasonably confident that there is nothing in Scrivener that could possibly double words like that. I don't even know how the software could do it. ...

Re: printing pages are off

I'm not quite sure I understand your description there, I'm afraid. I think it's definitely best to send the project. To zip it up, simply Ctrl-click on it in the Finder and select 'Compress "MyProjectName.scriv"'. Then email us the zip file.

Thanks!

I've added <$docTarget> (and <$draftTarget> and <$sessionTarget>) for 3.0.3, especially for you. :)

All the best,

Re: Using the trial: the only reason I won't purchase...

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with this and that it has discouraged you from purchasing Scrivener. This is frustrating for us, too. The trouble with this issue is that not a single member of the team has been able to reproduce it in the years that we have had reports of it. Reports started ...

Re: Footnote reference number is changing line spacing in Word after compilation

My guess is that it's the superscript of the footnote text that causes this to occur, in combination with whatever your line spacing or line height settings are. I can't reproduce the problem myself, even with a 12-point Times New Roman font using single line spacing, so it must be a setting somewhe...

Re: 3.0 doesn't autocorrect "michael" to "Michael" as I type. Searched everywhere for fix. I have fallen & failed. Hel-

I have autocorrection and autocapitalisation turned on, but the autocapitalisation won't work. Autocorrect of lowercase words does work, but it won't transform keith, for example, to Keith. Any other setting which might also have an impact? As I said in my post directly before yours, it won't chang...

Maelduin, I definitely recommend going through the sections on Compile in the updated 3.0 tutorial - it will make things a lot easier! :)

Re: Mojave Beta and Scrivener 3 compatability

Don't fret Keith, I heard from a source that Apple know that Scrivener is the best app ever written on any platform, and there is a secret project involving thousands of developers pulled from iHoover to iFiesta to rebuild the text APIs from the ground up to slice, dice, splice and wrangle prose li...

Re: 3.0 doesn't autocorrect "michael" to "Michael" as I type. Searched everywhere for fix. I have fallen & failed. Hel-

The reason for this is that Scrivener uses its own auto-capitalisation routines instead of the built-in ones that Apple uses in TextEdit etc. I am wary of moving over to Apple's routines because a lot of uses like the ability to turn off "auto-capitalise 'i'" separately, which is not possi...

Re: Stop Capitalisation on New Line

We are talking about different things. I was saying that Apple has not provided an option to explicitly turn off capitalisation in a text view. If auto-correction is turned on for a text view, then capitalisation comes with it automatically (but I worked around that). Currently, Scrivener provides i...

Re: Font size keeps getting overridden (Scrivener 3)

Hi, In the attached project, no styles are associated with the text in the title page. for Kindle KF8 and Epub 3, you need to use styles to set off areas of text that should use different sizes. For instance, try assigning the "Title" style - or you can make your own style to suit you bett...
