Re: External links to documents?

Hi,

This was something that is part of Scrivener 3 on macOS, so it is definitely on the roadmap for Scrivener 3 for Windows, so long as the Windows frameworks support the mechanisms necessary to getting this working.

Re: Cant seem to copy video mp4 file

File > Import > Import Files... or just drag the MP4 file from the Finder into Scrivener's binder (not in the Draft folder though).

Re: Automatic numbering of the scenes

Yes. In Script Settings (Format > Scriptwriting), under Paragraph > Options... you'll see there is an option to add sequential numbering.

Re: Quitting 2 projects only quits one

Are you sure you are not hitting Cmd-W (close window) instead of Cmd-Q? The quit behaviour is all down to macOS, so there's nothing in Scrivener controlling this.

Re: Need simpler way to create and move footnotes

Also, footnotes should be added *after* quote marks, unless you have ticked "Terminate footnotes before punctuation" in the "Editing" Preferences, so I'm not sure why you are seeing footnotes placed before quote marks.

Re: Scriv 3 for Mac: toggle visibility of audio and video controls

In actual fact, the player used in Scrivener is not the standard Apple player but one built from the ground up by me to look like and behave the same as the Apple player. It uses Apple's AVPlayer technology to create a custom player view rather than using the standard Apple AVPlayerView, simply beca...

Thanks. This works fine in my 3.0.2 build, so I can confirm that this is fixed for the next update.

Re: V3 Binder: Can't edit the text when select it and the font color will turn white

Unfortunately, as I say, we cannot reproduce it, and it seems only to affect a handful of users (otherwise we'd be inundated with similar reports), so at the moment it is very difficult to figure out what is going on. - What version of macOS are you on? - What machine are you using? - What happens i...

Re: DropBox no longer works

You don't need to replace your computer - unless it's *really* old - but only update the operating system. Dropbox has dropped support for operating systems older than 10.9. We've done the same - Scrivener 3 requires 10.12 or above to run. But older Macs can still run the latest version of macOS. My...

Re: Image Scaling in Editor and Compile Incorrect after "Replace Media File…"

I think that's probably the only solution. I've added "Reload Original Image" to the contextual menu for linked images (whether linked to an external image or a binder image). This simply replaces the Ctrl-clicked image with the original image again, so that it both reloads it and restores...

As I said, you'd have to take that up with Apple given that it's their code. (Also cf. Pages.)

Re: Little bug with outliner

Thanks for the kind words! This is in fact intended behaviour. The way macOS works is that typing in a table or outline isn't saved or stored until you hit return. However, in Scrivener, because a user might be typing a long synopsis and we wouldn't want this lost during a crash, I've implemented so...
