Re: Document link formatting in PDF Compile

Hi Christian, This really is the whole point of the new Compile system. Scrivener provides a bunch of Formats with presets, but you can create your own either by adding a new one or duplicating and editing an existing one. There's an "+" button in the footer for this, making it clear that ...

Re: Short-cut for quick-reference window from outline?

Asking Windows-related questions in the Mac forums *won't* get you any help, since everyone here uses the Mac version. I haven't answered the question because I don't KNOW the answer - I'm the Mac developer. You need to ask in the Windows forums to get help with the Windows version. This isn't an ar...

Re: Short-cut for quick-reference window from outline?

You can set the spacebar to open the document as a QR under the Navigation tab in Preferences; if you prefer to have that set to open the document in the editor, you can assign your own keyboard shortcut to "as QuickReference" (from the Documents>Open menu) in system prefs. Is this instru...

Re: Changing header/footer colours.

There isn't even a colour option anywhere for this, is there? But no, there's no way of adding colour to headers and footers.

All the best,

Re: Make Reveal in Binder More Revealing?

Reveal in Binder has always worked the same (on macOS): it scrolls the row to visible and selects it. The selection colour is the system default, and it won't necessarily be centred because it just uses Apple's own "scroll row to visible" code, which just moves the row onto screen. All the...

Re: Lock Group View Mode

If that's the best we can do, it'll have to suffice. I've created a System Preferences shortcut to Lock Group View Mode, That will help a bit, but it's simply not true (here) that putting a folder in group mode is reliably "sticky". Yes it is. One you put a folder in a group view mode, wh...

Re: Document link formatting in PDF Compile

Nothing much has changed between 2 and 3 in this regard - colouring and underlining internal links was an option in Scrivener 2 and the same option exists in Scrivener 3. You can find the options by editing the Compile format and looking in "PDF Settings". Hope that helps. All the best, Ke...

Re: Undeclared prefix: 'ibooks'. (ERROR)

This is caused by some HTML Scrivener adds so that iBooks opens the ePub at the start page. Apple's documentation suggests adding it, but it turns out that it does indeed cause ePub validation to fail elsewhere. I've fixed this for the next update. In the meantime, you can tick the option to optimis...

Re: Set up dependencies between documents

To be honest, I think this would be a bit of a weird addition - Scrivener throwing up a warning because you drag a document to a different position. And of course, it would mean that every document movement would need to search through a bunch of metadata dependencies. But ultimately, I'm afraid tha...

Re: Set up dependencies between documents

I don't think this is the sort of thing that would really fit what Scrivener does, since Scrivener is essentially a sequence of documents with no logic dictated inside Scrivener itself. It would also be quite limited, since it would depend on chronological ordering, which isn't how everything is wri...

Interesting! Thanks, Ioa. Funny how Amazon's page says that AZK should only be needed for older iPhone devices:

This sounds as though your project is now consistently triggering an internal error. Could you please zip it up and send it to us at Mac.support AT literatureandlatte.com for testing? I'd like to see what is causing the error and fix it.

Thanks and all the best,

Re: Change Insert Date Format

And where does one format this Long Date in Scrivener? Another topic reply says System/Preferences 'as a guess'. Anyone know where System Preferences is? Another topic references resetting the Windows long date setting. Any idea of how to do that? Your profile says you are on Windows; System Prefer...

Re: Date metadata field surreptitiously changes undisplayed year

This should be fixed for the next update. It turns out that Apple's date formatter (which is used as the first port of call to try to interpret the date from the text, in the case where the text matches the expected format) can have a default date set. When a default date is set, then that date is u...
