Re: multiple HTML file creation for nonlinear story telling

I can't believe I forgot about that option! The way this works, incidentally, is that when you tell Scrivener to hide the section in the eBook, it gets the "Linear" attribute for the section element in the OPF XML of the ebook to "No" - this means that it will not be navigable wh...

Re: [BUG ?] or Amount of Keywords Metadata is limited in a Scrivener project ?

Great, glad the project is working now! None of those external apps would have caused the issue - those don't edit the underlying data of the Scrivener project as far as I know. We also have another user with a similar problem in our support queue (although I haven't yet verified if it's also down t...

Re: Tweet progress without the image?

I've added an option for this to 3.0.2. The option is called "Include screenshot when using Twitter service in Project Targets", and you'll find it under General > Services in the Preferences.

All the best,
Keith

Re: multiple HTML file creation for nonlinear story telling

You're just in the basic options there - you'll need to delve a bit deeper for this by creating your own Compile format. Click on the gear icon below the Formats list and either create a new Format or duplicate and edit the Ebook format. You'll most likely want to check out our video tutorials on Co...

Re: multiple HTML file creation for nonlinear story telling

Solution two: scramble the order of everything after the first entry. That's how physical "choose your own adventure" books used to work. Also, there are tools for building interactive fiction that might be better suited to obscuring the underlying story chapters. Here's a link to a numbe...

Re: [BUG ?] or Amount of Keywords Metadata is limited in a Scrivener project ?

Great, thanks Emmanuel. I have fixed the trigger in Scrivener and replied to your email with instructions on how to fix up your project to get rid of the issue. I've also asked if you have edited the project in an external app, because the trigger is a keyword - "Trésors" - which has a neg...

Re: multiple HTML file creation for nonlinear story telling

One solution: 1. Compile to ePub. 2. In the options area of Compile, tick "Save source files in a folder with exported ePub file". 3. Discard all the files you don't need (the .ePub file, contents file etc) and just keep the HTML, CSS and any image files you need for your book. All the bes...

Re: [BUG ?] or Amount of Keywords Metadata is limited in a Scrivener project ?

That definitely sounds like a bug. There is no limit to the number of keywords you can assign. Internally, each keyword has a unique number assigned that is used to identify it, and it is the number that is recorded everywhere. So the keywords area of the inspector knows the internal keyword number ...

Re: multiple HTML file creation for nonlinear story telling

Epub and Mobi should be able to do this just fine. Internally, they are separate HTML files inside a zip file, and support linking between different documents. So this would be best done as an ePub ebook, I think.

Re: Tweet progress without the image?

There is no way to add an option for this to the Tweet window because that window is provided by Apple (I can either pass an image to it or not). The only way would be to add Yet Another Preference somewhere for this.

That shouldn't make any difference - very strange indeed. Please let me know if you can reproduce it at all.

Re: Can’t apply style to multiple paragraphs

I can't reproduce this, I'm afraid. For me, assigning a paragraph style to multiple paragraphs works as expected, with all selected paragraphs being affected. Are there any other reproduction steps required?

All the best,
Keith

Re: Screenwriting Menu Commands

I'm afraid this isn't possible, because Apple's text system passes any letter you type directly to the editor, and there's no way for me to intercept it at that point.

Re: expansion of Edit> Add Link...

If you mean in the titles in Scrivener's binder, then I'm afraid this is not going to be possible, because those titles are necessarily plain text, and plain text does not support links.

All the best,
