Re: Handling of indents and bullets in list styles

In trying to overcome this issue myself, I did find that I could make a keyboard shortcut for a basic bulleted list by adding s shortcut to the menu item '•' in the keyboard preferences pane. Not the perfect solution but certainly quicker than having to jump up to the dropdown menu every time you wa...

Re: Minor alignment issue in custom formatted table of contents for ebook

That fixed it very nicely! Thanks Keith. There were actually three tabs. I have no idea how they got there – I thought I just did the 'Copy Special...' and Paste thing but must have introduced the indents somewhere along the way. Anyhow, this fixed not only the wayward alignment in my contents but a...

Bingo! Thanks Keith – you've done it again :)

Successful validation now.

epub HTML Table of Contents entries don't link to subheadings

I'm having a number of challenges generating a working epub, for reasons that include my own limited knowledge, getting to know S3 and a degree of complexity in the book. My issue now is that the table of contents is showing up validation errors which I have tracked back to a problem with the HTML t...

Re: Minor alignment issue in custom formatted table of contents for ebook

Thanks Keith, My issue seems to occur on all readers (at least the ones I can try) and there does seem to be a glitch in the created contents.xhtml code, which I don't know is due to something I've done or a bug. It looks like after three list levels, there are only two </ol> tags, which leave every...

Minor alignment issue in custom formatted table of contents for ebook

I am compiling an epub and have created a custom table of contents using the Copy Special command (p531 of the User Manual) and pasted the result into its own file named Table of Contents. The TOC has multiple levels which is why I'm using this approach instead of the automatically generated TOC. I ...

Re: Drag and drop does not work in 3.0.1

This is indeed a very annoying problem. For some reason I find the situation worse in Scrivener (3.0.1) than in many other applications, but then I use it more in Scrivener so perhaps notice it more there. Nice to at least understand it is a MacOS bug rather than a Scrivener one, though if the latte...

Re: How to MOVE text to the Binder?

I am having the opposite problem in S3.0.1 whereby dragging text to the binder cuts the text from the original document, even if I hold the option key as I drag (and have 'Option-dragging creates duplicates' in preferences). Is there a way to force a copy when dragging and dropping text from a docum...

Compiling to MS Word: possible to add fields to footers?

I'm learning about all the potential of compiling in Scrivener 3. One thing I'm interested in doing is including code in the template that will convert to a field in the Word document's footer. The document name, in particular, is what I want to include. Are the page numbers added to footers include...

Style menu greyed out for no apparent reason (S3)

At seemingly random times the styles section of the menus becomes greyed out in S3. Styles can still be selected from the Styles panel and from the dropdown menu on the formatting bar, however keyboard shortcuts don't work when the menu is greyed out. https://monosnap.com/file/WS55HvBsMp9zRfReagrYTZ...

Hi Keith,

Yes, I have typewriter scrolling turned on, so it seems like you're onto this one.

Thanks,
David

Unexpected scroll when applying a style in S3

I find that when I apply a style in Scrivener 3, the window scrolls further down the document on most occasion, meaning I have to scroll back up to resume work. Cursor focus stays on the formatted text. Example screencast here: http://take.ms/CnDkP . Not a major problem but annoying. It happens ofte...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts for styles in S3

Just answered my own question. The previous approach of adding shortcuts via System Preferences still works. The problem was the system was confused by having two apps called Scrivener installed. I downloaded the legacy 2.9 version ( http://www.literatureandlatte.com/legacy-download ) as instructed ...

Keyboard shortcuts for styles in S3

Just upgraded to S3 and very happy with the concept of the 'proper' styling. I'm just wondering if there is a way to apply keyboard shortcuts other than the ten on offer by default. I use styles (formatting presets) a lot to mark up research text as I work. For instance, I change the colour of resea...
