Re: Custom styles behave oddly syncing between iPhone & Mac

I’m glad to be of help! It’s hard to gauge someone’s experience from 1 post :) and not even the date they joined the forum is always meaningful, so it’s a tightrope walk between being patronising and assuming the person knows more than they do. NP :D One thing that often trips me up is that while s...

Re: Custom styles behave oddly syncing between iPhone & Mac

Hi, Redfox! I gather that you use styles throughout your project, that is, that you have no text that doesn't have a style applied. In general, Scrivener assumes the opposite: that styles are used only for exceptional cases such as block quotes. You may well already be aware of this (it's discussed...

Custom styles behave oddly syncing between iPhone & Mac

This issue is similar to several mentioned below, but not identical. I have a couple of custom styles set up on my Mac that I use in my draft, called "Body" and "Body 1st paragraph". When I edit a document on my iPhone (which I do regularly, since I often have ideas as I'm walkin...

Re: Bug or tutorial error? (Scrivener 3)

Oops, looks like a last-minute change I made to section types in the tutorial has rendered that section a little... wrong. Can you please try downloading this version of the tutorial: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/user_shares/Tutorial3_0Updated.zip Follow the "Section Types" document ...

Bug or tutorial error? (Scrivener 3)

Hi guys Just bought and installed my upgrade this morning - yay! However... I'm going through the "What's New in Scrivener 3" tutorial sections, and I think I've found an error in the "Section Types" document. I followed the instructions for renaming and adding section types, the...

Thanks! I thought that might be the case, but I wanted to be sure.

That would be nice :)

Scrivener 2 and High Sierra

A while back there was a tweet about not installing the High Sierra beta owing to problems with Scrivener not working. Is that still the case with the upcoming final release of High Sierra? I'm not in any hurry to upgrade OSX but since the release date for Scrivener 3 hasn't been announced yet, I'm ...

Re: Project target - counts not updating

Thanks for the explanations, Amber! I have definitely moved files into the trash rather than deleting their contents, so I'll update the search indexes and see what happens. No, I never write in the middle of the night - I'm a lark, not an owl! That said, I don't shut my laptop down very often, and ...

Project target - counts not updating

A couple of minor annoyances I've encountered with Project Targets during NaNoWriMo... My setup: I'm running Scrivener 2.8 on OSX Sierra and on iOS 10 (iPhone and iPad), all syncing nicely! However Project Targets on the Mac is misbehaving: 1. The daily count isn't resetting after midnight, even tho...

Things I love so far

* The Scrivener main screen reminds me when files have changed so that I know to sync with Dropbox before switching devices. Seems trivial, but I've used lots of Dropbox-compatible apps over the years and you'd be surprised how many of them don't bother to do this. Or maybe you wouldn't... * Scriven...

Re: When "cork" isn't cork

We love that "S" and want to use it in the icon to replace the now outdated yin-yang icon, but coming up with a design that stands out is near impossible on iOS. Everything is just a one-colour letter or symbol against a background colour. It will just be one more "S" on a backg...

Re: to pay for mac and IOS?

Oh, and thank god it isn't subscription based :-) I'm happy to pay and to own. Hear, hear! The finance app I've been using for a couple of years (with great results) has switched from paid software to a web app + subscription, much to the lamentation of long-time users. I'm not sure what I'll do wh...

Re: to pay for mac and IOS?

Hello, I've just discoverd that Scriverner is available for my Iphone! Good news! I've paid for Scrivener on Mac: do I have to pay another 20€ to get Scriverner on my Iphone? I think that is quite "rude"... Thanks! SC Why rude? This isn't a minimalist helper app. I can't think of many hea...

Re: When "cork" isn't cork

The clue is "Background Colors". :) Yeah, the lightbulb went on eventually :) On a more serious note, a couple of slightly darker colours would be appreciated. I'm so used to the strong visual contrast in the Mac version that the iOS corkboard looks too washed out. I guess I'll get used t...

Re: Index Card (.NDXCRD) files import

Index Card 4 for iPad will export to .scriv; Index Card 3 for iPad and index card for iPhone will not. Even with a so- called .scriv export tho, you're going to need to do some processing. It is saved as a .zip archive, so you'll need to unzip it. It's also an old .scriv format, so your windows or ...
