Re: Footnote - indented block quotes & compile

One question, though. You said: " I used the Block Quote style within a footnote, compile to RTF and opened the result in Nisus Writer Pro. The style assignment was intact within the footnote, and displayed as expected. " For what it's worth, that's not what happens for me. When I do a Bl...

Interactive Tutorial: available from the Help menu. Look for the What's New Collection. Manual: also available from the Help menu. Appendix E discusses changes from Scrivener 2. Upgrade guide for Scrivener 2 users: http://literatureandlatte.com/scrivener-3-update-guide There's also quite a bit of in...

Re: Crashed on my old Mac running 10.10.05. Resinstalls not working. Please HELP!

The best version of Scrivener for your machine is 2.9. Yes, it is possible to extract your work from a project without using Scrivener. It's time consuming and tedious, but it can be done. You should be able to get back on track without resorting to such extreme measures. (Mark's advice about resett...

Re: Both Mac and Windows and Dropbox

You probably have Scrivener 3 on the Mac. Use the File -> Export -> As Scrivener 2 Project command to convert it to a format that Windows Scrivener can read.

(Or install Scrivener 2.9 on the Mac. Or install the Windows Scrivener 3 public beta.)

Re: Updating from Scrivener 2 to Scrivener 3: A Guide

Today I upgraded from scrivener 2 to 3 and lost ALL recent work! I mean all of it. Why does that happen? I don't want to repeat this mistake. It automatically saves every 2 seconds of pause, and I deliberately save it, too. But it's not in Scrivener or iCloud or TimeMachine. What do you think could...

Re: Creating an Index for a scrivener document

I wonder, wouldn't the Keywords Feature in Scrivener be the basis for an Indexing Feature? The Key words are already identified by card, when publishing, the Index could at least be an alphabetized list of keywords that are themselves a link (no actual page numbers required). Can this already be do...

Re: Serial number not recognised/ Scrivener not opening

Perhaps they offer the older version for folks who have purchased licenses for said older version and need to reinstall it? Yes, exactly. Scrivener 1.54 has been available for download for years for the same reason, but we haven't sold a Scrivener 1 license since Scrivener 2 was released. Katherine

That is correct. We are no longer issuing Scrivener 2 licenses. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Re: Serial number not recognised/ Scrivener not opening

Dear Friends, I'm having the same problem described above. I acquired a license of Scrivener 3, which I activated on my macOS 10.12 machine. I have another Mac running OS X 10.7, which runs Scrivener 2.5. I've tried like mad to activate Scrivener 2.5. It won't. It keeps saying, "Serial Number ...

Re: Scrivener causes occasional freezing

Check your autosave interval, too. The default interval is very short, and can lead to the symptoms you describe if Scrivener is trying to save the project when you haven't actually paused. Scrivener -> Preferences -> Saving

Re: New to Scrivener, and frustrated

Desktop Scrivener has much more complete table capabilities than iOS Scrivener. The "Working with Documents" file in the Tutorial explains how to move documents around. Tap Edit to enter editing mode, select the documents you want, and either drag and drop within the same folder or use the...

I'm still not sure how to find these conflicts. When I'm looking at the package contents, what does conflict look like? Please advise. I can see that there are several overlapping projects, each with different files, but I'm not sure how to "patch them together. " Your posts would be much...

Re: Scrivener + Scapple ... writing and mapping on the same application

I use Scapple precisely because it *doesn't* have a strict hierarchy. But I don't generally need to turn a map into Scrivener documents, either: the planning I do in Scapple is generally more granular -- down to the paragraph or even sentence level -- than my Scrivener outline. Yes, the idea of Scap...
