Re: $levelN_title losing underscore before processing in header & footer on compile to PDF

Ah. Missed that.

Still makes me wonder why the underscore gets stripped. Hmm.

Thanks! :)

$levelN_title losing underscore before processing in header & footer on compile to PDF

The "<$level N _title>" works fine if I put it in my main document or as a prefix on a section layout, (I've tested multiple numbers.) When I put it in the header or footer, instead of processing to show that level title, I'm getting "<$level N title>". Ergo, my interpretation of...

Custom Color for External Hyperlink on Compile to PDF?

I've been digging around the various settings and the manual. I found paragraph and character styles, and I found the custom internal link color spot, but I can't find anywhere to set a custom color for external links on compile to PDF, I assume I'm overlooking it.

Thanks!

Stuck on Backup — apparently unfixable!

I've been gone awhile, I know—I've been sick, so I may be missing (or forgetting) something important that started all this—but as far as I'm aware, one day, opening old projects and templates created a backup file and proceeded normally. Another day, I could no longer open old files. Computer: Powe...

Re: Multiple colors to outline a story

I generally use the labels for organization. They create a color-coded timeline on projects that year jump. Status field keeps track of what state a draft is in: To Do, In Progress, Drafted, Revised, etc.

Haven't played with the keyword colors yet, myself. I really should.

Re: Help! File Hierarchy Gone (and maybe files?)

Nice thought, but I don't do auto backups. Low RAM, and some of my projects that I frequently tweak are fairly large. :/ Another odd thing about the restored project: the images aren't right. I've taken a snapshot to demonstrate. Also, Console message (forgot that before, sorry): Scrivener[995] deal...

Re: Help! File Hierarchy Gone (and maybe files?)

Um, deleting the ui.plist didn't do anything, left everything in a Recovered Files folder. BUT I just duplicated the project and changed the name of one of them back to the old name, and it's working. I've lost my color tints, but everything's formatted how it's supposed to be, now. *scratching head...

Help! File Hierarchy Gone (and maybe files?)

I changed a project name, and my entire layout was destroyed! I lost my labels, status, folders, file hierarchy, and several file names, and several files aren't even showing up. For a freelance project that's due TONIGHT, and I was just opening it up for a final polish. *Breathes deeply* Okay, I've...

Re: Who's a writer ?

 2000… pages… small type on A4? That's what, 500+ words per page? So a guesstimated million words… Which is enough for 10 novels, give or take a few. Maybe you have a series, there? On topic: I consider a writer someone who writes, and you're only an author after you've been published by some...

Re: Multi-Level Documents (Subdocuments) Issue

Nothing shows up in Console. To reproduce: 1. Have one document without any subdocuments in Binder. (Not Collections, not Outliner, not Corkboard. :) ) 2. Attempt to drag something else to the document to set that "something else" as a subdocument or subfolder. Result: You can put the desi...

Not trying to be difficult, but I just double-checked, and my Option key isn't pressed or stuck or anything. :|

Multi-Level Documents (Subdocuments) Issue

I'm on an old PPC iBook G4 with system 10.5.8, using the NaNo version of Scrivener, and prepping everything for the UF mystery I'm writing for NaNoWriMo. The below picture illustrates both what I'm trying to do and what won't happen. I'm trying to drag a document over to put it as a subdocument of a...

No comment on Eugene, I'm afraid, and my experience with Chinese is limited, but I know that for Spanish speakers, their accent with English improves when they open their jaws more.

Just a thought. :)
