Re: spit screen view windows

Ahhh! Yes. Thank you for the quick reply and it's a fix!
It's interesting that the window on the right was not set to page view, but the one on the left was.
Oh well, not relevant. Just happy to have it done. Thanks again. I feel kinda stupid now :)

spit screen view windows

I'm trying to figure how to get the file on the left to adjust to fit the way the one on the right does. As it is now, I have to keep using the side-to-side scroll bar to read the text on the left window.

Re: number symbol/pound symbol between paragraphs

"They don't appear between regular paragraphs within the same document at all."

Yes, they do, and no my screen shot is not reflective of different files or documents. It's all one file.

Re: number symbol/pound symbol between paragraphs

Any thoughts as to why they are not appearing consistently between paragraphs, then? See attachment

number symbol/pound symbol between paragraphs

Why is the compile feature automatically adding these between my paragraphs?
And why are they only appearing between some, but not all paragraphs?
And most importantly, how do I get rid of them?
Thanks!

Re: outline view

I've tried creating it two different ways. One, by simply selecting "print current document" when I'm on the outline view, and two, I've tried compiling the outline into a pdf. Either way, the colors didn't carry over.

compile outline

Is there a way to compile just the outline, with the synopsis notes exactly as it displays in outline view, and either print it or export it? I know I can simply go to print current document from the outline window, but when I do that, it doesn't carry the heading colors, it's all black. See attachm...

Re: outline view

Hmmm. I figured most of it out, but I just realized that when I create a PDF of the outline, the color doesn't show. It shows up in black.

Re: outline view

And also... it didn't change a thing. What constitutes a heading, or a subheading? How do I create them when I'm outlining?

I would like it look like this (see attached) but mine does not

Re: outline view

Ok... but since I didn't know this even existed, how did I disable it? Wouldn't it have simply defaulted to the blue color, like the template does?

Re: words per manuscript page

rdale, when I say "buyers", I'm referring to the individuals who commission me to write their life stories. That's my gig. They're buying my services to write their autobiography for them. They tend to understand page volume more easily than word-count. Word-count means nothing to them as ...

outline view

I'm confused about my outline view.

When I look at a template outline, the chapter headings have a colored font (blue) and are bold.
I've done my outline, but mine are all displaying in regular font. How do I make it so that my Parts and Chapters stand out as headings and sub-headings?

words per manuscript page

Hi All, When discussing volume, buyers tend to understand total pages more easily than total words. I try to as accurately as possible indicate to them that one page will be equivalent to approximately xxx words. I've been using 200 words per page as my reference. But I've seen a few posts online wh...

Re: where are the project templates?

My confusion is driven by a post I read that said we should not use tutorial templates as "real" projects. We should be using "real" project templates instead. So I really wanted to understand where to find "real" project templates, but you are saying they are the same,...
