Re: Page guides on as default

Thanks for the stationery pad tip, I didn't know about that. Although in this particular case, because it auto duplicates in the same folder, it's doesn't really save me any workflow. I would have to move and rename the document. But I can see if I had a more complicated preference setup it could be...

Page guides on as default

Hi there,

I find the page guides very helpful, as it gives me a sense of scale within the document and aids in organising.

It would be great if this could be an option to turn on as default in preferences.

Thanks

Re: Left handed zoom support

Thanks very much for your reply. I discover shift-command-* which is doing the job very well too.

Left handed zoom support

As a proud leftie, I would like to request the ability to change the zoom (z) key which is less easy for me to use. In programs like Adobe Indesign, it is possible to zoom into the pasteboard by holding down command and space and drawing a box around the area of the pasteboard you want to zoom in on...

...Thanks. In retrospect, I feel I should have spotted that without assistance.

Autocorrect

I am using Scapple and having to write in Portuguese, which uses characters like é ç ã etc. In other software I use, I can rely on autocorrect so I don't have to do the keyboard gymnastics required to type these. But in Scapple, am I right in thinking that autocorrect doesn't work? Is there a way to...

track wpm in scrivener?

Is there any way to track my average typing speed in Scrivener? Or does anyone know of some other app that would track my speed while using Scrivener?

Dock is blocking compose menu

Hi I'm in Scrivener 2.9.

Is there a way to move the bottom menu in compose mode so that it's not along the bottom? I cannot use it because my dock pops up and blocks it. I don't want to change my dock.

Re: Scrivener 2 cheaper?

Ok I understand and that's a relief! I'm not sure what is meant by "frameworks we use for activation". You mean that if I wait to upgrade that I may have trouble transferring my licence at a later date? I'm currently using 10.11.6, which seems to be the highest I can go with it. The Mac is...

Re: Scrivener 2 cheaper?

Ok thanks,

Is there some information about the "transition period" and how long it is likely to last? I hope to get a few more years out of my mac. I'm asking to understand if Scrivener 2.9 will suddenly become non-operative at some point in the near future.

Scrivener 2 cheaper?

Hi,

My computer can't run scrivener 3.

I'm coming to the end of my trial period and want to purchase. But it seems I don't have the option to purchase scrivener 2 (which would logically be cheaper than 3). Is there some way to do this?

Re: Display the day of the week something was written

Thank you - it turns out it was a Mac system preferences adjustment that would make it possible to display the day on which it was edited. I'm not sure how indexable the solution is though, so I may export to csv every so often to compile some data on my writing patterns... although now that I look,...

Re: Auto-insert 'Day of Week' into metadata (or other location)

Yes that worked! Thanks very much.

Changing the Short format alters it in the Inspector for me. And changing the Long format alters it for the Outliner.

Much appreciated!

Display the day of the week something was written

I asked in the tech support forum but heard nothing back, so perhaps this is not a feature yet: I would like to be able to see the day of the week that I wrote something on. I can enter it manually but it would be a good feature. How I write on Monday and how I write on Friday is very different and ...
