I'm lost the Preserve Formatting Options in v3

I must be dumb, but when you check Preserve Formatting on the format menu after selecting a bunch of text, I can't find the option to identify what gets preserved. I want to preserve the centering of text, but not font, thus allowing the ebook reader (the user) to choose font but keep my text center...

Chambers Thesaurus

At one point I used to be able to right-click a word in my project and the context menu would offer me my installed Chambers Thesaurus. I wish knew how I did that, it doesn't work after 3.x and I have no idea how I did that in the first place. Any ideas? Thanks!

Chambers Thesaurus

At one point I downloaded Chambers Thesaurus from the App Store and somehow--I don't know how-- it managed to place itself within the context menu when right-clicking text in Scrivener. I have no idea how I did that, but it was wonderful and I do not seem to be able to reproduce that behavior in Scr...

Re: Images DPI

Hi everyone, just looking in on the hornet's nest I created. Did anything productive come from my rants? I hope L&L support doesn't hate me for starting all this, I might need your help with some other matter one day! Just for the record, Scrivener is still the best product ever!

Re: Images DPI

Like I said, you can discuss endlessly the science of this. The compiled code does not honor the setting in the GUI, this whole lengthy and painful conversation seems like smoke and mirrors. If I use any other EPub creator and specify that an image is X pixels I get X pixels, if I specify 100% I get...

Re: Images DPI

Hey I'm done. I'll let you guys carry on. We are obviously not going to convince each other. You think that it is OK for the GUI to say 346 x 259 *points* and produce compiled code that says 346 x 259 *pixels*. I think that is wrong. You think that other compilers are wrong for coding 346 x 259 *poi...

Re: Images DPI

I appreciate your scientific view on this, but lets take a moment to think about your users. Most of them are not typesetters, or coders or web-page creators. Let's pretend for a moment that I was not in receipt of all the technical education you have provided. I take an image that is is 1080x1440 a...

Re: Images DPI

If we are not supposed to use points, why does the GUI express points, you cannot have it both ways.

Re: Images DPI

I give up. You clearly feel that when I set the slider to state 346x259 POINTS I have an unreasonable assumption that the code Scrivener produces would state 346x259 POINTS instead of 346x259 PIXELS. If we cannot get on the same page about that, then this conversation isn't really going to go much f...

Re: Images DPI

I am disappointed by your increasing sarcastic tone and would like this issue escalated. Of course it is a bug, I am specifying a number of points in the slider and Scrivener is coding the HTML as pixels instead of points. Everything else is smoke and mirrors. My support experience has damaged my op...

Re: Images DPI

I have to confess I am dismayed by your response An image the size of a business card blows up to be the size of a postcard I am not asking for that. My image correctly displayed in photoshop at 100% is the size of an ebook page. When I open the page on the ebook reader it is tiny. We seem to be so ...

Re: Images DPI

What I am looking for is for Scrivener to honor the setting on the slider. Right now it does not. I ask for so many points and I get pixels instead. What you seem to be telling me is that I have to change my DPI to compensate for the bug. Here is an *example* of the issue. When I open an ePub on a M...

Re: Images DPI

I don't believe I agree. When I paste a picture into Scrivener and the slider says 346 x 259 *points* it codes 346 x 259 *pixels*. That is an error. The fact that I manifest the error by using a 300 dpi document shouldn't matter. Forget what I mentioned about the Kindle. I am only using that as an e...
