Footnotes stuck as endnotes in Paper (APA) template; toggling doesn't work

Hi All In the Paper (APA) Template, the Compile setting for toggling the location of footnotes (either at bottom of page, or end of document; see image below) does not work. Footnotes always appear at the end of the document. In the 'Compile Format Designer' area, under "Footnotes and Comments&...

Re: How to display document titles in Scrivenings mode

I have this question too, and also do not see the options that Lunk refers to.

One work-around for this, prior to v3, is to add the title within each text as an inline annotation. These will show up in Scrivenings mode, but wont appear in the Compiled version

Cheers

Re: Footnote numbers in Paper (APA) Template appear odd after compile

Thanks Keith,

As to whether it's the converter or Word itself, the fact that a document (compiled to .docx) does not have the issue when its opened in Word in Windows seems to suggest that Mac Word handles the joiner differently than Windows Word?

The RTF export works for me too.

Front Matter page number format bleeds to Main matter in drafts from Blank and Paper (APA) templates

Hi All, Im trying to use Roman numerals for the Front matter ('First pages') and Arabic for the rest. Ive set the relevant footers to <$p-r> and <$p> in Compile settings. While the Front matter pages in the compiled document (in Word) do have Roman numerals, so do the Main matter pages. Curiously th...

Re: TOC page number problem with Paper (APA) Template

Thanks Keith, I had tried the Print/Cancel idea previously, and had read all the relevant parts of the manual, which I should have mentioned. But no luck. When I compile a draft from a Blank template, the numbers show up automatically. Ive attached two sample Paper (APA) projects, one with a highly ...

Re: Footnote numbers in Paper (APA) Template appear odd after compile

Thanks Keith, I updated my Word to 16.10, still the same. I imagine the problem exists because of some particular setting in my instance of Mac Word. In fact when I open a Word file with the issue in Windows Word, using Parallels on my Mac, the space is gone! I followed the suggestions of a Mac foru...

TOC page number problem with Paper (APA) Template

Hi All, After compiling a draft based on the Paper (APA) template into Word, the Word doc's TOC exists, but all the page numbers are question marks. I'm following the right procedures, at least generally, because I can get a numbered TOC to appear properly when compiling a draft based on the Blank t...

Re: Footnote numbers in Paper (APA) Template appear odd after compile

Thanks Keith, Your efforts are much appreciated. Ive attached two projects, one created using the Paper (APA) template, the other via the Blank template. In each project, the file that has the footnoted text is the Abstract. I have included images of the relevant pages of the compiled Word files bel...

Import/Export of Formats not yet enabled in Windows 3 Beta?

Hi Team Just double-checking that Im not missing something simple: Ive read that the Compile functions are still being worked on in the Windows 3 Beta . Am I right in assuming that importing/exporting of compile Formats is one of the as-yet nascent features? The options are not greyed out, but click...

Footnote numbers in Paper (APA) Template appear odd after compile

When compiling a draft created using Scrivener's APA paper template, into Word .doc or docx, an ugly extra space is inserted before the footnote number, as it appears in the main text (see attached image of a Word .docx document). This doesn't happen if a draft is created using the 'blank' template, ...

Re: Endnote Library syncing problems

Thanks Mike,

It seems like you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't!

If you set up dropbox not to launch at login, that might help to reduce the chance of having it open while working with EN.

Cheers

Re: Endnote Library syncing problems

Hi Mike Ah, that's good to know, I haven't noticed any problems with my library in DB so far, but better safe than sorry. The compressed library solution sounds like the way to go. I was curious about the capability you mentioned previously, that Word could make sense, as it were, of citations with ...

Re: OPML or Scapple and Scrivener 3

However, I did chance on a series of lectures by Brandon Sanderson given at BYU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4ZDBOc2tX8&list=PLH3mK1NZn9QqOSj3ObrP3xL8tEJQ12-vL These helped me greatly. These are great, thanks for the lead! The information is solid, and Brandon is a charismatic and engaging...
