Sorry Maria,

I'm afraid it's harvest season (must finish this play!) and the pitchforks are being put to better use. You'll have to argue this one on your own with the evil landowner.

back to the fields.

Sorry for stating the obvious, but at least when it comes to files that weren't created in DT -like reference material, pdf, text files etc. Isn't easiest just to store it externally and index in DT? Then you can drag the file reference from DT directly into Scriv's references and thus link, open an...

You can also select your documents in the binder and drag them INTO a document in the other split. You then get a list of clickable scrivener links with just the titles. That list can be copied as text to your editor. E. As i'm sure Keith will be pleased to hear, I have zero time to burble these day...

You double-click on your search. Select all search results, press Cmd-Opt-4 to create an Edit Scrivenings session out of them, lock the split, and finally close the search to return the ordinary Binder. Now you have a plot-line Edit Scrivenings session in one split, and you can do other viewing and...

M_N, Your suggestion strikes me as very wise and reasonable. Sad to say, wise and reasonable are not my strong suits. But given my recurring frustration in trying to automate and organize my huge note collection in both DT and Scriv -- maybe it's time to switch strategies. Thanks for the friendly ki...

One problem is where the folder gets its smarts from. In a sense, current saved searches function are not entirely unlike smart folders. But for a folder to be really smart it would have to allow for better, more complex search criteria than the current search engine allows. Since those sorts of sea...

As I said: "at this point". Though you're right, Popcorn, I certainly shouldn't presume to speak for you. Request away. I'll just watch.

We do understand Keith. It sometimes easier to describe the ideal while trying to find workarounds that will be good enough. At this point, I don't think anyone considers this wish list anything more than a discussion.

All Camino fans --otherwise known as Keith-- might be interested to see that the latest beta seems to be a decent step towards becoming a real browser. Check out this review.

Interesting. I've managed to reproduce it. It seems that the third global replace using command-F doesn't work. It just error beeps and is suceeded by some odd behaviour, screen redraw issues and an application crash.

I agree it would be useful and I recall suggesting some time ago that titles would be a good option to fill those extra lines that get temporarily inserted between files in an Edit Scrivenings session. Nonetheless, one does get used to the workarounds.

cheers,

BTW Keith, I warned you a while back not to expect too much of season 3 of BG. Well it turns out I spoke to soon. Just watched season 3 episode 16 and found it to be just great. Unusual, with a few new twists, but really smart and entertaining. All about labour unrest and hardball politics. One of t...

Ah, but the truth is always funniest in the long run. Glad to know you- if only a little bit.

Eiron,
By no means young myself, unwise but starting to know which questions to ask, and oddly enough increasingly enchanted despite the sadness. As my dog used to say: Arf!
