Bug #01 - Inspector window stays visible when I change apps (Windows 10)

Hi

Bug - In Windows10, the inspector window stays visible when I change applications (e.g. using Alt/Tab)

Is there any sign of a new version of Scapple yet? I am still on "Version 1.0.0.0 - 08 Oct 2013".

Thanks

J

...it would just be slightly easier to generate diagrams that are exactly aligned, instead of "very nearly aligned". Aha, you are one for order and organization? I am not... :D Somehow there appears to be a contradiction between "free form" and "oranized order", isn't ...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

Each and everyone to his/her own opinion... I understand the wish for more elaborate formatting of arrows, more colors, snap to grid, all those things that any decent mind map app has, but I think that it would indeed change the core concept of Scapple. There are other apps that have all that, so w...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

Since one of the things you want is a grid system, have you not thought about the fact that you can change the background so you could easily make your own background tile with a grid pattern on it ... say a tile of 64 x 64 pixels or multiple thereof with grid lines spaced at 16 pixels, or whatever...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

If so I will try to clarify myself. :) KB answered that Scapple "already does everything I want" and that "it's not going to change fundamentally", so I just wondered why you continue to argue for changes like more powerful layouts, background grid, etc? What's the point? You ha...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

This begs the question what is that "one thing"? If you have not been able to comprehend/absorb/infer what that "one thing" is, perhaps it is your own reading skills which must be addressed. Incidentally, to "beg a question" does not in its original and — I suspect — p...

KB has answered, so what is the point of the continued argument, from your point of view?

Sorry, I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about.

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

ship69: You have nicely and appropriately quoted KB. However, it occurs to me that — in carefully citing his POV — you somehow managed to avoid actually reading what he had written. the idea for Scapple was always that it would be very simple, do one thing, and not have lots of new features added. ...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

Just to clear one point up - and ignore the insults - Scapple has not stopped development. It has, however, been on something of a hiatus while Scrivener 3.0 and Scrivener for iOS have been in development, given that I'm the sole developer. Also, the idea for Scapple was always that it would be ver...

Re: Getting new Notes to Stack properly

Wow, in the Windows version of Scapple, changing default align to become left align (File==> Options ==> New Note ==> Default alignment ==> [1st option] ) completely changes things! Now, if I just hit Enter after entering text (of any length) you ALWAYS end up with a "stack". Enter and Con...

Re: Getting new Notes to Stack properly

I assume that the thing you call the "box" is the border around the note? As far as I know you can't create boxes of similar size, because what you enter in Scapple is notes, i.e. text or images or something like that, and they can either be stand-alone on the background, or you can have ...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

Part of your 'habitat' is that someone else evolves who eventually steals your lunch, because they do what you do but do it better. Wait - now I get it. Scapple is a religion! And there's no successful convincing someone that their religion in incorrect or needs a little fine tuning... let alone an...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

If you fail to evolve eventually you will die, it's as simple as that. Actually, no - only if your environment changes and no longer affords you an equable habitat. As you can tell from the responses you (and other threads with the same idea) are getting: Scapple is flourishing because it fits its ...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

You will never succeed in producing good products if you anxiously observe what possible competitors do and try to mimic that. Successful ideas are usually based on some fundamental principle which makes it different than other apparently similar ideas. Sometimes someone will see a really good idea...

Re: Scapple now has competitors: CmapTools & Mindomo.com (in 'Concept Map' mode)

You don't use Scapple then? A tool doesn't have to change or be "developed" to be useful. My 20 year old hammer is as good as the new one I recently bought. Your old hammer with it's wooden shaft has an uncomfortable grip. And if I use something which is essentially low in cost every day,...
