Re: Moving project within computer

RafeS wrote:Will the "save as" method preserve all the project's internal links to backups, syncs, etc.?

Your backups will continue to be sent to the folder you specify in Scrivener options.

What do you mean by "syncs"? Are you using DropBox and sharing the project with other devices?

Re: Page view please!

Windows Scrivener v3 is currently in beta, and L&L has stated it will have feature parity with the current Mac v3 version. With that it mind, if you download the Mac user guide, that will give you a view into where Windows Scrivener is headed. If the feature you want is in Mac v3, we should see ...

Re: Scrivener "Compare Documents?"

To be honest, I cannot understand this discussion. The desire for a SIMPLE comparison function is old. All complex detours are not what Scrivener is supposed to be - and not expected to be. Why this frustrating discussion? Nobody attacks our good Scrivener - it's just a desire for improvement. I kn...

Re: I guess I'm old--I'm not adapting to the new compile at all

On a related note, the two compile menus are so very, very different that it would be greatly appreciated if someone could come up with a walkthrough for people who've never used the Mac compiler, which everything I've been able to find seems to indicate is a prerequisite for getting a handle on th...

Re: In what universe is Scrivener 3 compile simpler than in Scrivener 2?

I don't have Scriv 3, so can't give you specific advice on how to set up your compile, but I can suggest that you have a look at the Updating from Scriv 2 -> Scriv 3 Guide that Keith prepared back in Nov, when v3 was released. https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41270 I ...

Re: Snapshot questions?

Thank you Amber. I am going through the tutorial - and it seems that if I roll back to a previous snapshot, I am then working on the (what I've taken upon myself to label), "version". So If I'd rolled back two snapshots, and I come back at a later time and see 3 total snapshots taken. How...

Re: Compatibility of Scrivener on Win10 with MS OneDrive?

Hey, another interested OneDrive user, right now just for backup of all critical files on my two laptops. One is Windows 7 and the other Windows 10 So as I understand the process, you copy a backed up Scrivener ZIP on the OneDrive, put it locally on another machine, work on it, back up and zip agai...

Re: Word count not the same in Word.docx

I am currently experiencing word count differences between Win Scriv and iOS Scriv--something like 300-500 word difference in a 135k project--so the algorithm is different even between L&L products.

Yes.

iOS already supports both the v2 and v3 file structures. For instance, currently one can sync a Win Beta project between Windows and iOS.

Re: Snapshot questions?

You can backup the entire project to zipped file from the projects screen.

Press Edit, select a project, press Send a Copy (on bottom 2nd from left). From there, send the zipped file wherever you like: email, cloud service, etc.

I store mine on OneDrive, with my desktop backups.
